paving is that no two stones are

coloured the same; however, when

combined they create a rich tapestry

of colour to make an overall hue as

presented here. Seasonal changes

also bring differing perspectives to

the reflected colours.

In strong summer sunlight a

sandstone patio will appear to have

less colour variation, whilst after rain

the colours will be of deep patina.

Being a natural product there willinevitably be natural variants in thecolour of our paving from batch to batch.The colours depicted in this brochure area representative sample only and beforecommitting to purchase any naturalstone product it is always recommendedthat you visit your stockist to check thecolour and texture of your chosen paving.

Because these are natural materials,there will also be minor dimensionalvariations which can normally beadjusted for in the laying pattern. It is always recommended that the layout is checked by dry laying naturalstone paving prior to mortar jointing.

Natural stone paving should always be laid on a full bed of mortar and havejoints of between 8-15mm wide alsomortar pointed.

laid with good looking concrete paving only to become

disappointed when efflorescence (a stubborn ‘salt’ like residue)

appears a short while after being laid, and a few years later when

hygienically clean for the next

Pluvio permeable block paving is a Sustainable Urban Drainage

Solution (SUDS) suitable for your driveway. When laid, spaces

are formed between each block that allows rainfall to drain

into the natural water-courses, rather than pushing the water

Recent changes to the permitted development rights that

allow householders to pave their front garden for

hardstanding without planning permission have changed.

Planning permission is now required to lay traditional

impermeable driveways that allow uncontrolled run-off of

rainwater from front gardens onto roads, because this can

contribute to flooding and pollution of water-courses.

In many cases, it will be possible to control the runoff of

rainwater and so conventional block paving will probably be

suitable for your project. However, should it not be possible,

then Pavestone has a range of paving solutions.

General InformationDimensionsAll dimensions quoted for natural stone are nominal and asmost are hand made they will be subject to manufacturingtolerances. Natural stone coverage quoted in the brochureincludes the appropriate joint widths to enable the correctamount of stone to be purchased to cover a given area. Basic laying patterns with joint widths are available uponrequest from Pavestone.

ColoursVariations in colour and shading will occur in natural stonepaving. The swatches reproduced in this brochure are asaccurate as reprographic processes allow and are indicationsof the overall hue produced by the variety of colourvariations in the given product. It is essential that your viewthe actual product at your stockist prior to purchasing. It isalso advisable that when the product ordered is delivered toyour site, that you inspected it to deem it suitable prior toinstallation.

Our reconstituted stone and concrete products contain naturalaggregates and pigments and are manufactured in productionbatches. We cannot guarantee that products from differentbatches will have identical colouration and therefore werecommend that when using several packs of the sameproduct on a project, that product is used randomly from allof the packs so as to achieve an overall blended appearance.

MaintenanceStandard Product. Pressure washing natural stone is notrecommended as it will damage the joint pointing. Pressurewashing may also damage the face of reconstituted stone andconcrete paving. We do not recommend any chemicalcleaners be used on our products but instead suggest thatwarm soapy water and a stiff broom be used to clean ourproducts.

M-Coat® Products. General cleaning of M-Coat® pavingshould be undertaken with a mop and bucket of soapy wateras per the kitchen floor. Proprietary non abrasive kitchenfloor cleaning and sterilising products may be used to cleanor sanitise the paving. Specific spillages of strong colouredproducts should be wiped off the paving immediately with a damp cloth to prevent any permanent damage.

WarrantiesIn the unlikely event of our products reaching you in a lessthan satisfactory condition, please notify your supplierimmediately who will be happy to organise replacementproduct for you. Please note that if a product is knowinglylaid with a defect apparent prior to laying then we reservethe right not to replace the product and will not accept anyresponsibility for costs incurred to rectify.

Standard Products. Defects affecting the productfunctionality that appear within one year of purchase will becorrected by way of replacement product and may or may notinclude some assistance to rectify depending on thecircumstances. No consequential losses will be accepted.

M-Coat® Products. M-Coat® paving is guaranteed for 10years from the date of purchase not to be damaged by frostor to suffer from efflorescence staining. Under normaldomestic conditions experience in the garden or conservatoryM-Coat® paving will resist staining from most everydayhousehold products and natural phenomenon. Specificspillages should be wiped off the paving immediately with adamp cloth to prevent permanent damage.

The guarantee on M-Coat® paving is limited to thereplacement cost of the defective product only and does notextend to financial reimbursement to cover the installationworks or any problems associated with installation. M-Coat®

paving must not be pressure washed to clean nor subjectedto de-icing salts or chemical treatments or patio sealants ofany kind as these will invalidate the warranty.

All concrete products have CE certification and comply withthe necessary product characteristics and requirementswithin the United Kingdom and European Union.

SealingTo avoid grout or mortar staining natural stone flooring laidinternally, it is recommended that a uniform treatment of apropriatory sealant be applied prior to grouting and againafterwards to fully protect the stone.

The seal, which on porous stone may need up to four coats,will also provide a protective coating against wear in mostlight traffic situations.

Chamfered edgesHand split natural stone paving usually has chamferededges. Always lay the stone with the chamfered edges own.

Warning

Never use Rock Salt or De-Icing Salts on concrete paving.Salt corrodes and destroys all concrete through a chemicalreaction and in addition will exaggerate the natural freezethaw cycles that erode the surface of concrete.
