blean school flowers project
TRANSCRIPT
Flores en Blean!
To begin our flowers project, Miss Holbrough taught us the names of the different parts of a flower in Spanish:
Primavera springLa flor the flowerEl pétalo the petal
La hoja the leafEl tallo the stem
We then had to practise writing our new Spanish words and label a daffodil (a traditional flor de
primavera en Inglaterra) using our new vocabulary.
This is a daffodil.
(See if you can spot
one later!)
“Hoja means ‘leaf’ – it was in ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’!”- Harry
“Spring is ‘primavera’ in Spanish!”
Ezra
“This flower is
‘amarillo’!”Beren
After, we went on a ‘flor’ hunt around our school – here is what we found …
“I think these are bluebells. You see them at the start of spring.” -

they had planted – they are
hyacinths!” Martha

Lily
“I like roses!” Charlotte
… y otra vez!
¿Cómo es esto diferente a las flores españolas?
We are going to write some sentences in Spanish about our flowers after our Easter Holidays and
compare them to your flowers!
We will send you some photos of our finished pieces of writing.
¡Buena suerte!
