    BlackBerry Internet Service from du

    BlackBerry Internet Service is a packaged email solution that sendsyour emails and calendar information to your phone. It can be easilyset up and works with common emails such as Yahoo! Mail Plus, MSN,Hotmail Plus, Gmail and with other email accounts provided by yourInternet Service Provider1.

    With BlackBerry, you get automatic push delivery of messages andintegration with up to 10 web-based email accounts. Each email will havea separate inbox on the BlackBerry smartphone and you will be able to

    choose any one of them for composing a new email or for replying. Youremail can now nd you, wherever you are. Which means you can replythere and then rather than wait until youre back in the ofce, or youcould just use your BlackBerry smartphone to make a call.

    1 email accounts should be POP3 / IMAP4 enabled.POP3 (Post Ofce Protocol 3) is a standard mail server commonly used on the Internet. It provides a message storethat holds incoming email until users log on and download it.

    IMAP4 (Internet Message Access Protocol 4) is another mail server that allow you to access and manage mailboxeson the server.

    Service availability will vary by your web-mail service provider, and some of them may impose extra chargesfor POP3 access. Please check with your web-mail provider directly.

    Step 4: You will see the screen as below,Click Yes under, I have read and understand the Legal Terms and ConditionsClick I agree under, Do you agree to be bound by the Legal Terms and Conditions?

    Step 5: You will see the screen Add An Email AccountIn this Account set up menu, you will need to add your email address one byone for every email account you wish to set up

    Enter your Email address and Password and then click on Next.

    Setting up web-based email accounts

    Creating email accounts using your BlackBerry smartphone

    Step 1: Please ensure your BlackBerry Internet Service has been activated. You willreceive two conrmation messages in your BlackBerry email inbox conrming yourregistration and welcoming you to the service

    Step 2: Click on Email Settings icon on your smartphone main screen

    Step 3: Click on Email Accounts

    You will see the following screens

    Enter Username (of your choice)

    Enter Password and click on Next

    You will receive a conrmation message conrming your BlackBerry username hasbeen successfully created.

    Please always remember this username and password as you will require this forlogging on to www.du.blackberry.com.

    Step 2: Logon to www.du.blackberry.com

    Enter username that you have created on your BlackBerry smartphoneEnter PasswordClick on Log In

    Step 2: Enter a Username followed by your Password

    You will receive a conrmation message conrming that your BlackBerry emailaddress account has been created.

    Creating email accounts using a PC

    You can also set up email accounts from the internet by using your PC by logging on towww.du.blackberry.com

    To create an email account using a PC, you will rst need to create a username foryour BlackBerry Internet Service from your smartphone.

    Step 1: Click on Email Settings icon on the smartphone main screenClick on Create User Name

    Suspend / Resume email forwarding to yourBlackBerry smartphone

    Suspend or resume using your BlackBerry smartphone

    Should you wish to suspend the BlackBerry service for your email account, e.g.when travelling abroad, you can do so from your BlackBerry smartphone. Fromyour BlackBerry smartphone all your accounts will be suspended. However, on thewww.du.blackberry.comwebsite you can select individual accounts that you wish tosuspend.

    Step 1: Click on your Email Inbox icon on your smartphone main screen

    Step 2: Click on Options from the sub menu

    Step 3: Click on Set Up Account

    Step 4: Enter your Email address and Password and click Next

    You will see a dialog box conrming that You have successfully congured access.To create other email accounts, please repeat steps 2-4.

    Swapping using a PC

    Alternatively, you can swap your smartphone and get your personal email accountssynchronised through www.du.blackberry.com

    Step 1: Insert the existing SIM card into the new BlackBerry smartphone andturn it ON

    Step 2: Logon to www.du.blackberry.comEnter Username that you have created on your BlackBerry smartphoneEnter PasswordClick on Log In

    Step 3: The following will automatically show up on your PC. Click on Yes to conrma smartphone swap. Your web-based email account will now be forwarded to yournew BlackBerry smartphone

    Swapping your BlackBerry smartphone

    Should you wish to change your BlackBerry smartphone and wish to use yourexisting SIM card in a new BlackBerry smartphone, you will need to perform somesteps in order to ensure all functions are synchronised.

    Swapping using your new BlackBerry smartphone

    Step 1: Insert the existing SIM card into the new BlackBerry smartphone andturn it ON.

    Step 2: Click on Email Settings icon on your smartphone main screen

    Step 3: Click on Yes conrming smartphone swap. Service books (details of servicesthat are available on your BlackBerry smartphone) will be resent to your newsmartphone. Your email accounts will be automatically synchronised.

    Step 2: Click on Service Books (from the menu on left hand side)

    Step 3: Click on Send Service Books

    You will receive a conrmation that Service Books were successfully sent to yourBlackBerry smartphone.

    Once you receive the Service Books on your BlackBerry smartphone, your emailaccounts will now be synchronised automatically to your smartphone.
