Offshore Wind - Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV)

• The WAVECRAFTTM developed by Umoe

Mandal is a Surface Effect Ship (SES) that is

partially lifted by an air cushion enclosed by

hull sides and flexible rubber sealing aft and

bow.

• The air cushion is utilized to stabilize

heave motion enabling the vessel to dock

with an offshore installation, fixed or floating,

in higher sea states than previously.

The design increases the operational

weather window.

Goals 2030:

Oil and Gas Industry and suppliers:

The oil companies, suppliers, shipping companies and rig

companies shall contribute to reduced emissions equal to 2.5

million tons CO2-equivalents.

Maritime sector of the industry:

By 2030, maritime operations on the NCS will be conducted

with low- or zero-emission technology in the offshore fleet.

Reductions from this part of the sector come in addition to the

ambition of 2.5 million tonnes of CO2 equivalents.
