The Processional…....……………….………………...……..Ministers, Choir, Stewards and Acolytes

The Doxology…………..………………………………………………………..….……….A.M.E. Hymn No. 647

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above ye

heavenly host, Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

The Call to Worship

Minister: I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord!” Our feet

have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem! (Psalm 122:1-2)

People: For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a

doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

(Psalm 84:10)

Minister: For the sake of the house of the Lord our God; I will seek your good. (Psalm 122:9)

People: They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God.

Minister: O Lord, I love the habitation of your house, and the place where your glory dwells.

People: But the Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him.

(Habakkuk 2:20)

Minister: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your

sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)

People: O sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things! I will sing of loyalty

and of justice, to you, O Lord, I will sing. (Psalm 98:1,4)

The Hymn of Praise………………………………..A.M.E. Hymn # 196 - There’s a Sweet, Sweet Spirit

1. There’s a sweet, sweet Spirit in this place, And I know that it’s the Spirit of the Lord; There are

sweet expressions on each face, And I know they feel the presence of the Lord.

REFRAIN: Sweet Holy Spirit, Sweet heavenly Dove, Stay right here with us, Filling us with Your

love; And for these blessings We lift our hearts in praise; Without a doubt we’ll know

that we have been revived When we shall leave this place.

2. There are blessings you can not receive ‘Til you know Him in His fullness and believe; You’re the one to profit when you say, “I am going to walk with Jesus all the way.”

REFRAIN

3. If you say He saved you from your sin, Now you’re weak you’re bound and cannot enter in; You

can make it right if you will yield, You’ll enjoy the Holy Spirit that we feel.

The Responsive Scripture ……………………………………………...…………………………...…..……..…Acts 10:34-42

Minister: 34

Then Peter began to speak to them: "I truly understand that God shows no partiality,

People: 35

but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.

Minister: 36

You know the message he sent to the people of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ--he is Lord of all.

People: 37

That message spread throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John announced:

Minister: 38

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good

and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

People: 39

We are witnesses to all that he did both in Judea and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree;

Minister: 40 but God raised him on the third day and allowed him to appear,

People: 41

not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he

rose from the dead.

ALL: 42

He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one ordained by God as judge of the living

and the dead.

The Preface to the Decalogue…………….……………...………………….....“From All That Dwell”

From all that dwell below the skies, let the Creator’s praise arise;

let the Redeemer’s name be sung, through every land by every tongue.

The Summary of the Decalogue

And Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and

with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And the second is like it, you shall love your

neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets.

- Hearing God’s Word in the Sermon – Since we forget 90% of what we hear, it has been suggested that note taking will

double the percentage of our take home response. Why not try it and see?
