SUMMARY

• Digestion and gasification are non-competing

processes

• Very different in feedstock, scale, …

• Both however can be used for CHP and

SNG/biomethane

• Happening now: digestion for SNG/biomethane

• Gasification will follow for the larger quantities

• Gasification still needs technological development

and upscaling, but benefits from coal-based

technologies

• Do not forget BECCS: bioenergy with CCS
