Biomass

Biomass is fuel that is developed from organic materials, a renewable and

sustainable source of energy used to create electricity or other forms of power.

We can produce electricity from biomass resources , biopower technologies included direct combustion, co-firing and anaerobic digestion.

Energy source.

sources of energy, origins of the power used for transportation, for heat and light in dwelling and

working areas, and for the manufacture of goods of all kinds, among other applications. The

development of science and civilization is closely linked to the availability of energy in useful forms. Modern society consumes vast amounts of energy

in all forms: light, heat, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and nuclear. The rate at which energy is produced or consumed is called power although this term is sometimes used in common speech

synonymously with energy.

DESCRIPTION OF ENERGY SOURCE

Energy is a fundamental component to our daily lives, and everyday we use energy or power in some form or another. The law of conservation of energy

states that energy can neither be created or destroyed. What this means is that as energy is used,

it does not disappear, but rather, is converted into another form of energy. For example, automobiles use

energy from gas that is converted into chemical energy which is further converted into mechanical energy. Thus, energy is all about performing work. Animals and humans require energy resources in order to function, and machines do not function any differently, they require energy resources to work as

well.

Raw Materials

A raw material or feedstock is basic material used in the production of goods, energy, finished

products or intermediate materials that are themselves feedstock for finished products. As feedstock, the term connotes it is a bottleneck

asset critical to the production of other products. For example, crude oil is a feedstock

raw material providing finished products in the fuel, plastic,

industrial chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

The term "raw material" is used to denote material is in an unprocessed

or minimally processed state; e.g., raw latex, coal, raw biomass, iron

ore, logs, crude oil, air or seawater. The use of raw material by non-

human species includes twigs and found objects as

used by birds to make nests.

Ocean energy

Tidal energy is when tides comes into the shore, and they can be

tropped in reservoirs behind daws.

waves ,but are resiste somewhat by hydrawlics.

Advantages and disadvantages.

AdvantagesADVANTAGES:

1. No armful emisions2. Clean energy.

3. Avoid energy dependence abroad, particularly fossil fuels.4. Is a form of recycling and reducing waste.5. Helps prevent forest fires, cleaning the mountains

improvement needs biomass.6. Have competitive prices and more stable than any fossil

fuel .7. Contributes to the generation of local employment.8. Encourage the creation of business network in sectors such

as agriculture , forestry or energy from biomass .

Disadvantages1. Lower energy density than fossil fuels . More biomass is needed

to get the same amount of energy .

2. Occupy more volume than fossil fuels , which implies greater storage systems.

3. Need conditioning or processing for use.

4. Lower energy performance of fuels derived from biomass in comparison with fossil fuels.

5. Seasonal production.
