ACI’s Biochemicals & Bioplastics 2013 will analyse the most prom-ising market segments of, as well as drivers & constraints for, the bio-based chemical producers and how these compare to those of their fossil-based petrochemical counterparts. The event will ad-dress the potential growth of the biochemical industry and its im-pact on the petrochemical market within the forthcoming 10 years. Today’s high oil prices and growing concerns regarding our car-bon footprint are forcing the major chemical producers to seek new feedstocks from renewable sources. Thus sugar as a new “crude oil” is currently fuelling the growth of bio-based chemical industry, though there is strong competition between crops for food and the use of crops and farmland for energy purposes. Strong interest in bio-based chemicals is also supported by some end-users in the packaging industry, as they are setting new standards for renewable materials. Thus, biopolymers over the next decade will act as stable driver for the biorenewable chemicals market, while lactic acid, glycerine and derivatives will also provide signifi-cant growth. Finally the conference will address the latest techno-logical advancements of bio-ethanol, biopolymers, lactic acid, ECH, glycerine and BDO production.
Confirmed Topics for Discussion: • What is the current market size & predicted growth rate of the
renewable chemical industry over the next 10 years?
• Global market drivers and restraints of the biorenewable chem-
ical industry
• Which are the most promising market segments of the biore-
newable chemical industry?
• Can sugar fuel large-scale growth of the biorenewable chemi-
cal industry?
• Addressing the latest technological advancements to produce
commodity polymers, glycerine derivatives and BDO
• Addressing the increasing need in retail for environmental
friendly packaging including supermarket bags and plastic bot-tles
• Growing interest from investors in biotechnology as biochemi-
cal industry thrives

Who Should Attend?
The event will attract biotech players and conventional chemical
companies currently producing biorenewable chemicals and inter-
ested in the latest advancements in biorenewable production
routes or seeking sector growth analysis. The conference will be
invaluable for traditional chemical producers shifting toward re-
newables, looking for alternative renewable feedstocks or conver-
sion technologies. If you are looking for a comprehensive progress
update on the global biorenewable chemicals industry including a
ten year market demand & growth outlook and the latest technol-
ogy advancements look no further than ACI`s Biochemical & Bio-
plastics 2013.
