Big Idea Jeopardy Set up: Before coming to the meeting you will need to use information about your campus and your Big Idea to fill-in the outline at the end of this document: “Alex Trebek’s cheat sheet”. You can make a Jeopardy board on the wall to indicate which categories have been answered, or you can simply play the game based off the cheat sheet. You can play with everyone representing him/herself, or you can divide your group into three teams and let them talk within their group to form answers. How to play: Individuals/groups must pick a category and a dollar amount. You will then read to them the answer to a question (i.e. “Big Idea”), and they have to “buzz in” (have groups choose their own ‘buzz in’ sound effect) and respond with what they believe is the corresponding question (i.e. “What is our group supposed to be working on?”). If they get it right then they are awarded the dollar amount to their score and they get to pick the next category. If they get it wrong, or they take more than five seconds to answer, then that dollar amount is taken away from their score and either of the other two contestants/groups can answer to receive the full dollar amount and control of choosing the next category.

Big Idea Jeopardy

Big Idea JeopardySet up:

Before coming to the meeting you will need to use information about your campus and your Big Idea to fill-in the outline at the end of this document: Alex Trebeks cheat sheet. You can make a Jeopardy board on the wall to indicate which categories have been answered, or you can simply play the game based off the cheat sheet. You can play with everyone representing him/herself, or you can divide your group into three teams and let them talk within their group to form answers.

How to play:

Individuals/groups must pick a category and a dollar amount. You will then read to them the answer to a question (i.e. Big Idea), and they have to buzz in (have groups choose their own buzz in sound effect) and respond with what they believe is the corresponding question (i.e. What is our group supposed to be working on?). Resources:

Adjust the format and the Q and A of this template as you see fit. The questions and answers entered here are simply meant to get you thinking about what question you could ask that would (re)introduce your Big Idea to your group, and get them engaged and interested in further dialogue.
