Downtown Brampton Clean Team A clean downtown is an essential factor in making a business district an attractive and appealing destination to eat, shop, and enjoy the many amenities that a downtown has to offer. At this time the newly formed Downtown Brampton Clean Team will be driving the “clean factor” for downtown and will be implementing some innovation programs for all B.I.A. members. Right now, our Clean Team has teamed up with Sheridan College’s Visual Merchandising programme and Beaux Arts Brampton to help beautify downtown business storefronts and vacant properties. More details on these programs will follow and if you would like more information please email [email protected]

PLACE IT...FACE IT...SPACE IT...ERASE IT!

Just a friendly reminder that waste collection is picked up on Monday and Thursdays by the Region of Peel and that all B.I.A. businesses are responsible for making sure that carts are properly placed, spaced and erased.

PLACE IT:• Place your carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day.• Make sure the lids on your garbage and recycling carts are closed. • Place your carts as close to the road as possible without blocking the road

or sidewalk. • Make sure the collection vehicle can reach your cart. • Don't put your carts too close to parked vehicles. • Make sure material isn't jammed into your carts or overflowing.• Don't use bungee cords or other items to keep the cart lid closed.

FACE IT: Face the front of the carts toward the street and the handles towards your business.

SPACE IT: Make sure your carts are an arm's length apart from one another.

ERASE IT: Remove your carts from the curb by 3 p.m. on your collection day. If your carts aren't collected by 8 p.m., report a missed collection. No Occupier/Owner located within a Business Improvement Area designated by an Area Municipality shall Set Out Waste Receptables prior to 7:00 p.m. on a day immediately preceeding a Scheduled Collection Day, or later than 10 a.m. on a Scheduled Collection Day and shall ensure that all receptacles and all uncollected Waste is removed from the Collection Point at which it was Set Out no later than 3:00 p.m. on the Scheduled Collection Day.

Events & Promotions Committee Grettel Comas, Chair of Events & Promotions CommitteeGood Friends, Good Food, GOOD times! Happily, another year full of events is ahead of us and as always, we want you to be a part of it along with your family and friends; right here, right now. That’s why the invitation is extended to all the members to support new and existing BIA events and we want you to pass the voice to all the people you know to explore The Taste of Downtown Brampton! Also a big cheers to spring, as it is a beautiful time to start brightening our storefronts and show off our Downtown. As well, June will bring us the Thursday Night Concert Series until August.

The busiest month that everybody is waiting on, July, will bring the bigger and better “Classic Cars Celebration”, and still to be confirmed the “Brampton’s Salsa-Latin Fest” plus a “Jazz Festival”. While those projects are awaiting confirmation, the Live Art Competition in the fall is on and if you love surprises, A Night in the Lane will have changes that you don’t want to miss. Last but not least is our Christmas Market event that will also have surprises for all of you.

If you have an event in mind, don’t be afraid to organize it. We have designed an “Event Work Plan” that will guide you when it comes to creating the event you always wanted to see, signature events, or to get sponsorship from the BIA. For more details, do not hesitate to contact the BIA office. I wish you a great 2017 in your personal and business affairs with Good Friends, Good Food, GOOD times! Grettel Comas
