Improving the Policy environment
• Two recently EU Funded Programs:
• - FIRST
• - Information platforms on nutrition
Food and Nutrition Security Impact, Resilience and Transformation (FIRST)
• A POLICY ASSISTANCE MECHANISM: • food and nutrition security, sustainable agriculture
• An innovative partnership EU/FAO: jointly funded; joint policy message
Program purpose • Improve enabling environment for FNSSA in selected priority
countries
• Develop capacities in countries to:
1. Develop and implement sectoral and cross-sectoral policy and programme frameworks for FNSSA, with a particular focus on the contribution that sustainable agriculture can make to FSN now and in the future;
2. Carry out human and organizational capacity development for FNSSA;
3. Facilitate inclusive and evidence-based governance and stakeholder coordination mechanisms for FNSSA
National Information platforms on Nutrition
• Strengthening 6 high stunting burden countries with their information and analysis about nutrition
• Better inform the priority decisions they are faced with and achieve their undernutrition reduction objectives.
