Factiva Homepage Quick Reference Guide

1. CHOOSE AN INDUSTRY

This will create your first custom view, which you can personalize further. *You may also have pages assigned by your admin.

2. PAGE SETTINGS

In the page edit view, you can set Sub-industries, Regions, Companies or other keyword filters. These will apply to all modules, which use the default settings.

3. ADDING AN ADDITIONAL PAGE

You can add an additional page by selecting the tab at the top right. Pages are categorized by Industry, Region or Shared. To start your own page from scratch, select “Create Your Own.” You’ll then be prompted to name the page and add modules.

4. ADDING A MODULE

To add a module to an existing page, select the “Add a Module (+)” button at the bottom of the page. Then select any of the modules and provide a name and any additional settings required.

5. EDITING MODULES

On the preconfigured pages, modules have default settings for industry or region. You can choose your own settings by unchecking the box, and changing the selections. For certain modules, you can add filters for sub-industries, regions, and keywords.

6. SETTING UP YOUR NEWSSTAND

You can modify the default newsstand module, or add a new module. Each newsstand module can be configured with any source on Factiva. With Factiva’s special newsstand sources, you can select the specific section you’d like to view by default. You can also easily add a set of recommended sources for an Industry or Region.

PUBLISH AND SHARE:

Let your colleagues use the same customized view by selecting the Publish and Share option in the page tab gear icon. Use the subsequent form to let others know that you’ve published the page.
