Beginner Spanish Midterm Schedule for 2017

How to study in general:

-Review all of your four packets (Para Empezar, 1A, 1B, and 2A)

-Go through all four sets of your cardstock flashcards (Para Empezar, 1A, 1B, and 2A)

-Go to my website and read the notes, links, and do the quizlets for all four chapters (Para

Empezar, 1A, 1B, and 2A)

How to study for the Speaking: A brief speaking activity will take place in class. The

rest of the period will be used to study. You must know

-All of the question words. I will ask all of the questions in Spanish and cannot

tell you what words mean.

Instructions: Write out all of the questions and answers in Spanish!

-How to say hello and goodbye

-Answer questions about your name

- Answer questions about your birthdate

How to study for the Listening section

-Make sure you know all of the vocab. Study your flashcards. LISTEN to the quizlets, so

you can HEAR the words in Spanish. I uploaded the audio tracks to my website if you

want to re-listen to the audio activities at home.

-It can helo to train your ear to hear more Spanish outside of class. Try listening to music,

movies and TV shows in Spanish.

How to study for the Reading section

-The study guide offers a lot of reading practice

-Make sure you know all of the vocab. Study your flashcards. Study with the quizlets.

-If you feel you need extra reading practice, use your textbook to read some of the

passages in Spanish.

You are applying to live on campus for Spanish camp at Millersville. In order to match you up

with a person with whom you have common interests, the program has asked you to fill out the

information in the form to assign you the best roommate. Write in complete sentences in Spanish.

You must include:

• They date and time

• The weather

• Your birth date

• Your age

• Three things you like to do

• Three things you DON’T like to do

• Three of your personality traits

• Your school schedule and classes

• Mention your favorite class, say why it is your favorite and who teaches it

• What you do most days of the week (ie. I swim, I listen to music, I study, etc)

Your writing will be graded on:

• completion of the task.

• the variety of vocabulary.

• accurate use of newly learned vocabulary and grammar points.

Answer the following questions AFTER completing the study guide.

1. What are my strengths for preparing for the midterm?

2. What are my weaknesses? What specifically do I need to focus on? List specific chapters

and skills.

3. How do I plan to study for the midterm? Just doing this packet is not enough for most

students. You should plan to study for several additional hours. Make a checklist of how

you plan to study so you can check them off as you progress. You may want to create a

timeline. Do not cram the night before.
