Be shepherds who live with “the smell of the sheep,” shepherds in the midst of the flock fishers of people.

Pope Francis

My dear brothers and sisters, May the words and prayer enclosed bring life to you. Looking forward to seeing you at our festival next weekend. This is a time not only to pray but play.

“Those who love you are not fooled by mistakes you have made or dark images you hold about yourself. They remember your beauty when you feel ugly; your wholeness when you are broken; your innocence when you feel guilty; and your purpose when you are confused.”

Jesus, giver of all good gifts On this barefoot journey I stand in constant need of foot-washing. Carrying your promise in my heart Pilgrim that I am, I plead for help along the way:

For the gift of vision that I may see with heaven’s eyes So that people will be safe in my presence. Give me your vision. For the gift of conviction That I become the song of the gospel Your Word made flesh in me. Give me your conviction. For the gift of poverty That I may be at home with emptiness, A willing space for God. Give me your poverty. For the gift of stability That I may be able to stay with the gospel In times of discouragement. Give me your stability. For the gift of hope That I may stand on tiptoe with the whole world Waiting for rebirth, growth, completion. Give me your hope. For the gift of reverence That I may hold sacred the gift of each person. Ever proclaiming the value of all creation. Give me your reverence. Finally I pray for the grace To recognize each gift as it is given, Receive it as a gift and acknowledge it as mine to give away. Give me your own self-giving.

With my renewed support and love, see you on the rides, in the food booths, or maybe even playing bingo,

Fr. Rich

Fr. Rich

On behalf of everyone here at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and “our friends in need” that we serve, thank you so much for your bundle Sunday participation on April 3, 2016 to help us with our work. The generosity of your parishioners goes far in helping those in need. All the donations will be put to good use as we continue to help out needy brothers and sisters in their struggles to find better lives for themselves and their children.

The St. Joseph's Ministry would like to say a very " Special Thank you " for everyone who helped and supported our St. Joseph's Dinner. We feel it was a great success, and, are looking forward to next year's dinner, we have already started with the planning process. One , having more MEATBALLS, which were so delicious. Right? Again thank you, especially to all the hard workers within the St. Joseph's Ministry!

This study focuses on the opening chapters of Matthew and Luke, the only gospels which describe the wondrous events surrounding the birth of the Messiah. It also explores the many significant connections these two gospels make between the Old Testament and the birth of the Savior. Rich insights will be made as these two gospels are opened to reveal the special contribution each makes to our understanding of Jesus' nativity. Deepen your longing for the Messiah's coming again and ask God to be Emmanuel, 'God with us.

From the Director of Administration… It is not easy being Christian and Catholic in today’s world. Our society, because of the critical nature of the media in large part, tends to view people of faith and morals with some distrust. That is a challenge for us. Paul and Barnabas experience something similar in today’s First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles. The people of Antioch in Pisidia “expel (them) from the territory.” No one likes or appreciates rejection. It is humiliating and discouraging. There may be times in our own lives when we follow firmly our Catholic beliefs and experience something similar. However, like Paul and Barnabas, we need to become even more determined in our desire to be a Disciple of the Lord. In their case, they moved on to Iconium and contin-ued their ministry and their message. In fact, Holy Scripture adds, “The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.” We, too, need to seek that joy and to understand that we have been blessed and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Blessed Mother Tere-sa said, “Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness.” Like Paul and Barnabas, and Mother Teresa, we need to seek and utilize God’s strength. Financial Stewardship: Thank you for your generosity
