What is the CSR Asia Summit?Running for the 8th time in 2010, the CSR Asia Summit is our annual flagship event which aims to be the most innovative and challenging conference on corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the Asia-Pacific region. Each year, the event gathers over 300 international thought leaders to explore key CSR issues and strategies, bringing new insights for businesses, governments, NGOs and other CSR practitioners.

Who should attend the CSR Asia Summit?

Pre- & Post-Conference Training EventsAll workshops in English unless otherwise stated.

Training 1: Is the social media worth engaging? Evidence from the on the ground13 September 2010, 9am – 12pm Course Leader – Stephen Frost, Executive Director, CSR Asia

What is the worst scenario you can think of involving a disgruntled customer with a digital camera and access to YouTube? If the picture forming in your mind is horrifying, then this workshop is for you. This session will provide you with the broad scope of the new social media, identify key trends in Asia and outline best practices of how companies are responding to the social media, public relations and new forms of engagement.

Training 2: Stakeholder engagement13 September 2010, 9am – 12pmCourse Leader – Richard Welford, CSR Asia

In order to practise corporate social responsibility (CSR), there is a need for companies to define exactly what is responsible, which can only be done in dialogue with stakeholders. This session will outline the ways in which stakeholders can be identified, prioritised and engaged, stressing the need for an ongoing dialogue to highlight emerging trends and issues and establishing effective partnerships.

Training 3: Climate change and carbon footprinting13 September 2010, 2pm – 5pmCourse Leader – Jacqui Dixon, Director Hong Kong, CSR Asia

In order for a company to reduce its climate change impact, it first needs to understand its carbon footprint and the core ingredients needed for a credible climate change strategy. This training will provide a step-by-step approach to measure and manage a company’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It will also examine issues such as carbon neutrality, choosing the appropriate boundaries when accounting for GHG emissions and deciding on how far down the value chain companies should be looking.
