After pro-ducing with cbc in calgary, edmonton, toronto and whitehorse, robb began his own company to produce media for corporations and govern-ments around the world, as well as educational dvds. robb has been involved with several non-

profits: Chair of the Peter Gzowski Golf Tournament and co-mc with peter mansbridge as they raised money for adult literacy; trustee of the bc sports Hall of fame; founding board member of the business Laureates of bc Hall of fame; and has always been there with re-sources, ideas and talent for the prostate cancer foun-dation of bc. robb was recently awarded the Queen’s diamond Jubilee medal as co-founder of the make-a-wish foundation in canada and director of maw inter-national. robb will be presenting content from his book “Legacie’s aren’t (just) for dead people” on sunday.

dr. ricHard wassersugaccess to great information

richard wassersug is a research scientist, who has published over two hundred and fifty aca-demic papers in various fields ranging from nat-ural history to psychology and oncology. the main focus of dr. wassersug’s current research is on how males adapt to androgen depriva-

tion therapy (adt). the primary goal of this research is to develop ways to help men and their partners adapt to the side effects of adt, which is the most common treatment for advanced disease. for ten years, he was a columnist on the tv science show “daily planet” as well as “scientist-in-residence” for an additional five years for the Canadian Discov-ery channel. He has also published over 30 popular essays and reviews in newspapers and magazines.

dr. david Kuhl is a ubc professor in the fac-ulty of medicine in the departments of family practice and urologic sciences, with a cross appointment in the faculty of education. inte-grating medicine, psychology and the social sciences is fundamental to his world view and

his work as a clinician. this is evident in the pro-grams he has founded, including the palliative care program at st. paul’s Hospital, the veterans transi-tion program (vtp), and the centre for practitioner renewal (cpr). each of these unique programs has informed his commitment to creating a centre for the integrity and well-being of men and boys that will provide service, research, education, and policy development addressing the needs of men and boys locally and globally – today and into the future

sally is an experienced adviser on all aspects of the transfer and protection of wealth, including estate, mental incapacity and business succes-sion planning. sally is a member of the society of trust and estate practitioners and sits on the

executive of the vancouver branch of step cana-da. she is a member of the estate planning council (vancouver) and the canadian bar association (bc Branch) and holds a certificate in family enterprise advising from the ubc sauder school of business. she is also a member of the board directors for the cKnw orphans’ fund. sally is a contributing writer of the bc estate planning and wealth preservation practice manual (cLebc) and a regular presenter on topics relating to estate planning and business succession.

pHiL poLLocKtHe supportive care program

phil pollock is the program manager of the pros-tate cancer supportive care (pcsc) program, initiated at the vancouver prostate centre in January 2013. using clinical, educational and evidence-based strategies, the pcsc program aims to address the educational, physical and

psychological needs of the prostate cancer popu-lation across the entire disease trajectory. phil’s role in the program is to oversee all activities of the pro-gram by coordinating physicians and healthcare professionals, developing outcomes measures and research evaluations of the program, and integrat-ing the program into larger research projects. prior to phil’s relocation to canada, he was employed at the university college London cancer trials centre as a senior trials coordinator for 2 years.

dr. Larry goldenberg, is an award-winning ca-nadian researcher in the field of medicine and a pioneer in the treatment of prostate cancer.dr. goldenberg is recognized around the world as being one of the first researchers and medi-cal practitioners to compare the practical ef-fectiveness of intermittent androgen suppres-

sion (i.a.s.) as a treatment alternative to continuous hormonal therapy for patients with advanced cases of prostate cancer. a world-renowned advocate of patient education, dr. goldenberg is the author of the intelligent patient guide to prostate cancer that is given out in each pcfbc reef knot kit.in 2007, dr. goldenberg succeeded in bringing the first multipurpose surgical robot to Western Canada which has dramatically improve surgical outcomes for prostate cancer patients in british columbia.

dr. Kim cHinew treatments on tHe Horizon dr. Kim chi is an oncologist and chair of the genitourinary tumour group for the bc cancer agency; an associate professor at ubc; and the medical director for clinical trials at the vancouver cancer centre. His research is in the area of genitourinary cancers with a focus

in prostate cancer and investigational new drugs. this includes phase i, ii and iil trials, therapeutic use of antisense oligonucleotides and small molecules, neoadjuvant studies and mechanisms of treatment resistance. He is an author on more than 70 peer-re-viewed publications. dr. chi is an executive commit-tee member of the genitourinary disease site for the national cancer institute of canada – clinical trials group canadian uro-onology group, and chair of the sub-site advanced prostate group.

travelDesignated delegate - Air travel will be paid for up to $300 per delegate who must fly to the confer-ence. those using the bc ferries will be reimbursed for their ferry however we expect the groups will carpool to save funds. Those who might fly and instead drive will be reimbursed 25 cents a kilometer after the first 100 kilometers up to a maximum of $300.
