KSER Scholarship Application – pick up in the counselling center Application Deadline: April 30th, 2019 The KSER Scholarship Fund offers a helping hand by supporting Grade 12 student-athletes graduating from School

District 23 on their pursuit of excellence in athletics and academics. The KSER Scholarship Fund’s mission is to help relieve some of the financial burden associated with fully committing heart-and-soul into a career objective, whether it is athletic, academic, or both.

Two scholarships will be awarded at $1000.00 each.

Additional Sources of FundingNumerous bursaries and scholarships at the school, district, and provincial level are available to students of Rutland Senior Secondary. Students can also receive financial assistance through government student loans. Information concerning these forms of assistance and awards can be found online, through scholarship sites obtained from the counsellors. The main forms of financial aid are the following:

The Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society (COBSS) is a non-profit group of volunteers from the Central Okanagan area who are dedicated to providing financial assistance to our Grade 12 graduates in order that they may further their post-secondary education. A single application gives a student access to a catalogue of over 400 awards, some with no criteria and some with specific criteria.

Must have an average of 60% in all Grade 11 and 12 completed courses and interim marks at the time of application.

Must have the potential to grad for the first time in June of the year of application. COBSS award presented this year expire December 1st, 2018. Must understand that your application form and the attached data must be for a full-time

Awarded to an RSS female student with high financial need entering an engineering program (degree or diploma). If no one meets the criteria, award to an RSS student with high financial need.

Army, Navy & Air Force Kelowna Unit 376 Bursary

To be awarded to students who are a son, daughter or grandchild of a veteran or a member of Unit 376, preferably RSS student. Student must attend post-secondary institution in BC.

Arts Council of the Central Okanagan (ARTSCO) Award

A student who is talented in the field of Fine Arts. Preference will be given to those who volunteered with ARTSCO or one or more of ARTSCO's member groups. Please explain your involvement with ARTSCO and/or member groups.

Bankhead Elementary PAC Bursary

A student who must have attended Bankhead Elementary.

Barbara Kathleen St. Paul Butler Textbook Bursary

To be used by students wishing to enroll in post secondary education in Academic or Trades schools in Canada.

Beta Sigma Phi/Joyce Adam Memorial Bursary

Male or female student going into a higher education with consideration first being given to a son or daughter or grandchild of a Kelowna Area Beta Sigma Phi Active Member

Beth Patterson Memorial Bursary

A female student with school and/or community service pursuing a career in commerce, real estate or teaching.

Big Brothers & Sisters /Norm Williams Memorial Bursary

Student must have been a former Little Brother or Little Sister. Preference given to a student matched up with a Big Brother/Big Sister through local program in the Okanagan.

Black Mountain Elementary PAC Bursary

A student who attended Black Mountain Elementary for at least three years. Student must attend a post secondary institution in BC.

Bob Ross Literary Award

A high school student who has an interest in English Literature & Journalism, who has demonstrated ability to communicate in English and is interested in continuing studies in this field.
