PAGE TWO Wow! This quarter proved to be a milestone quarter for the FACO this year! We can’t even feature all the events in one issue! April saw the 2015 Miss Fil-Am/ Miss Teen Fil-Am pageant, May saw the Mother’s Day Event and June saw the 14

th Annual Cultural

Celebration, the Asian Fest at the Del Mar Fair and the Freedom Parade! We saw the crowning of our 2015 Mrs. Fil-Am. Mrs. Fil-Am Golden and Platinum and our Little Miss and Pre-Teen Fil-Am princesses. To top it all that, our Miss Teen Fil-Am proudly represented the FACO in the Philippines by making personal appearances at UPIS and an exclusive TV appearance on ABS-CBN’s “ANC Mornings”. So stay tuned for the next exciting issue where we will feature our Freedom Parade, Annual Picnic, our July membership meeting with a Western theme and many, many more!

LET’S TALK…….Tips & Trends

50+ Shades of Grey --2015 saw a trend of unusual hair colors…from pinks, blues and greens. From Katy Perry and Rihanna down to the girl next door. But the biggest trend this summer is granny grey! Yes, you heard me right! Celebrities and models have been sporting this color all over from the runway to the streets. Editors credit its popularity for being a neutral color, is easy to pair with anything and it is a more appropriate color for work. CHANEL and Gaultier all used grey haired models in their runway shows and a host of A-lister have been seen sporting all over grey locks. If this isn't enough to convince you to hit the bottle (or let your natural silver strands show through), take a look through our celebrity gallery for inspiration. Tread gently with an ice-cool blonde rinsed with a silver toner, or take the plunge with all-over grey; speak to your stylist to talk about maintenance and condition though, as a bleached-out grey mane can be difficult to maintain.

The Asian festival also featured cultural dances and costumes from other sister Filipino-American Associations.
