The holiday passed quickly. Jane is now back at school

    has

    re turned to

    The Cincinnat i

    Bible

    Seminary,

    Please

    pray

    for

    Judy as

    she

    was

    ll

    Just before Christmas and

    has

    not

    yet gained her

    s t r eng th back

    The new

    year

    in

    Nigeria began with

    the

    KLlitary

    GoTern-

    ment

    regulating

    salaries

    of civil servants

    which includes teachers, doctors and

nurses, gome doctors and nurses are s t i l l on strike

    in

    Lagos State, However,

    hospitals

    here

    in

    Western State

    seem to

    be operating normally. One

    evangelist

    has been

    receiving

    treatment at the Otta

    Bistrict Hospital

    and another

    evangelist

    is

    in

    the

    Otta Hospit al

    r ight

    now.

    The

    new

    year brought dust

    winds off

    the Sahara

    desert.

    This

    is ccmmonly

    called

the harmattan, I t is a good time

    for

    us here in

    the

    rain fores ts as the

    atmosphere

    is

diy and refreshing to us after the constant humidity. However,

the dust winds are a ha ard at the airports especially in Kano, Jos and iaduna.

    The

new year brought a petrol and kerosene shortage. With the truckers

    strik

    ing the

    rmy commandeered

    the tankers and petrol is

    now

    available.

    However,

    the

    price has increased.

    Search the Gcrlptures radio

    program

requires reams of mimeograph paper for

    the

    free

    copies

    of the

    radio messages

    that we offer

    and

    for the

    lessons of

    the

    correspondence course. In

    1974

    paper products

    doubled

    in price.

    The

    Nigerians

are also aware of this rise in costs and we have

    been

    receiving offerings from

people who are grateful for the . radio messages and the correspondence course.

We thank God fo r His p eople

In February, Bon and Walter Smith

    will

    be

    visiting and

    teaching in the

Eiver Bible School in the East, Pray for

    them

    as they

    go

    Cr o s s

thank the Father for giving us the opportunity to live-and work in Nigeria,
