 Opinion  Essay  

           I  think  Batman  is  the  coolest  hero  in  the  D.C.  Universe.    His  utility  belt  contains  everything  a  hero  needs  to  defeat  enemies.    He  has  thought  of  ways  to  defeat  villains  and  his  friends  if  they  are  corrupted.    Batman  also  uses  technology  to  fight  crime  and  research  crooks.    Because  of  his  multiple  skills,  Batman  is  a  great  hero  even  though  he  doesn’t  have  super  powers.            First,  Batman’s  utility  belt  has  all  sorts  of  tools  and  gadgets  that  help  him  defeat  enemies.    For  example,  he  has  bat-­‐bombs  that  he  uses  to  create  smoke  and  blind  enemies  so  he  can  get  past  them.    He  also  has  a  special  laser  so  that  if  he’s  stuck  in  ropes  he  can  use  it  to  sneakily  burn  his  way  out.    If  Mr.  Freeze  comes  along,  Batman  can  also  use  the  laser  to  unfreeze  objects  or  people  that  shouldn’t  be  frozen.            Secondly,  Batman  has  a  plan  for  defeating  anyone,  including  his  friends.    Batman  has  fought  enemies  that  use  mind-­‐control  powers  to  corrupt  his  friends.    For  example,  Brainiac  used  his  big  skull  space  ship  to  take  over  the  brain  of  Batman’s  friend,  Superman.    Because  of  Batman’s  ‘just  in  case’  kryptonite  box,  he  was  able  to  use  the  mineral  from  the  planet  Krypton  to  weaken  Superman  and  temporarily  remove  his  powers.            Finally,  Batman  uses  technology  to  research  and  solve  crimes.    He  analyzes  D.N.A.  found  at  crime  scenes  to  find  out  who  committed  the  crime.    For  example,  the  handle  of  a  knife  can  be  tested  and  the  information  can  be  used  to  match  up  the  D.N.A.  with  villains  who  are  in  his  database.    Batman  also  uses  technology  to  communicate  with  Commissioner  Gordon  and  his  other  friends  Batgirl,  Nightwing,  Red  Hood,  Robin  and  Alfred.            To  sum  up,  Batman  is  the  coolest  hero  in  the  D.C.  Universe  because  he  relies  on  his  awesome  tools  and  intelligence  to  defeat  villains.
