  • Mission Partners– Trent and Elizabeth DeLoach serve as Send Relief missionaries in Clarkston, GA. Our church helps support them through our Cooperative Program giving. That "Send Relief" label means they are involved in ministering to the physical needs of people, even as they share the Gospel and baptize new believers. Clarkston is where many of the refugees coming to America are placed to start their new lives. Nearly 2,000 refugees settle here each year. People from more than 60 nations and speak more than 100 languages now call Clarkston home. Trent and Elizabeth are right in the middle of this resettlement program. Trent is lead pastor of Clarkston International Bible Church, which is a multi-national, multi-ethnic church. The church provides newly arrived refugees with food or helps meet other needs they have. The church also hosts seven churches and 12 mission groups on their campus. Some of these folks are coming from countries where we are not allowed to send missionaries, so these refugees may not have ever heard of Jesus. Ministering to refugees is how we can reach the nations - right in the state of Georgia!

Righttolife.org Petition– In the sanctuary lobby, you can find a petition to support

legislation that would protect unborn children from dismemberment abortions. This petition is from the National Right to Life organization. This petition is in support of H.R. 956, and the bill can be found at: https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/956/text

Training Christian leaders is an important part of missions. Jeremy is one of our missionaries serving in Uganda, in Africa. Five years ago he met a believer from

South Sudan named James. For some time Jeremy trained James in church planting, spiritual disciplines and Bible storytelling. James went back to South Sudan. Two years later Jeremy visited a camp in Uganda where refugees from South Sudan have fled to escape the war in their country - and he ran in to his

former student, James. Imagine how happy Jeremy was when he learned James had planted six new churches among the refugees! Our church had a hand in that training because our church's Cooperative Program giving helps support Jeremy,

    our missionary in Uganda.

Trunk-or-Treat Candy Collection– During September, we are collection candy for our annual trunk-or-treat outreach event on October 31. This fun event lets us spend time with our neighbors and gives us a chance to talk to them about Jesus. You can help by donating individually wrapped candy. There will be a bin in the lobby for donations.

Our Missions Partners– Did you know that about five percent of the world's

population is Deaf? That's more than 460 million people. We're going to pray today for two our missionaries to the Deaf. We're going to call them Trent and Victoria Mullen for security reasons, though those are not their real names. Trent and Victoria have trained Deaf Christians across Mexico in how to communicate the Gospel to other Deaf people. In one part of Mexico, Trent and Victoria trained two Baptist women who are Deaf - we'll call them Ana and Sally. They have been able to share the Gospel with many Deaf people in village after village by telling Bible stories in sign language. Our church is supporting Trent and Victoria through our Cooperative Program giving. Let's ask the Lord to keep our missionaries, Trent and Victoria, safe as they travel and teach across Mexico.
