would like to gather with others during Lent to share

their faith, to pray together and so to strengthen their

Christian life as Catholics. Why Catholic? will give us much to

who is somewhat distanced from the community. More

Last weekend there were 3,304 people who came to

OLPH for the celebration of the Eucharist. The total

collection was $12,733.02 Thank you for your

generosity in supporting our parish community. In the name of

the God who will not be undone in generosity, thank you!

Father John Murray continues with his Bible Class on

Mondays at 7 PM in the Rectory.

We are excitedly planning our annual celebration of Catholic Schools Week. This year we will be starting our celebration at the 10:15 Mass on January 27th. Throughout the week we have exciting events planned including a Pep Rally, Ring Day for he 8th Grade, a school wide trip to Fun Station, and a rousing game of Jeopardy. We will also take the opportunity to thank in a special way, our volunteers, without whom our fundraisers would not be possible.

Tuesdays are officially "Open House" days. If you would like to make an appointment to visit our school to learn more about being part of our great family call the number below.

las 7:30 p.m.

El Consejo Pastoral Parroquial se realizará el lunes, 28 de

enero, a las 7 p.m. en la rectoría.

La Semana de Escuelas Católicas se celebra desde el domingo

próximo, 20 de enero, hasta el sábado, 2 de febrero. La

parroquia celebra con OLPH Catholic Academy of Brooklyn en

la Misa en inglés de las 10:15 a.m. en la iglesia de abajo. Todos

están invitados.

Pensando … planeando … ¿Por qué soy católico?

… En las próximas semanas se dará inicio a un

nuevo programa para los parroquianos que desean

reunirse durante la cuaresma – como Levántate -

para compartir su fe, para orar juntos, y para

fortalecer su vida cristiana. ¿Por qué soy católico? nos dará

mucho que compartir y aprender. Hagan correr la voz entre sus

parientes, vecinos y amigos. Piensen invitar a los que están

alejados de la comunidad.

Habrá un Retiro de Parejas el sábado, 9 de febrero, desde

las 9 de la mañana hasta las 5 de la tarde en el Salón Notre

Dame. El costo es de $10 por pareja. ¡Reserven la fecha para

participar de este retiro!

Misa Familiar todos los Jueves a las 6:45 PM con una

bendición especial para todos los niños y jóvenes. Todos están

Ethan Veliz Estamos planeando con entusiasmo nuestra celebración annual, de la Semana de las Escuelas Católicas. Este año iniciaremos nuestra celebración en la Misa de las 10:00AM el 27 de Enero. A lo largo de la semana, tenemos planeados eventos emocionantes que incluyen Pep Rally, Dia de Anillos del 8th Grado, un viaje escolar a Fun Station y un emocionante juego de Jeopardy. También aprovecharemos la oportunidad para agradecer de manera especial a nuestros voluntarios, sin los cuales nuestros recaudadores de fondos no serían posibles.

El último desafío que tuvieron que enfrentar nuestros alumnos de 8º grado fue crear una montaña rusa. Las estipulaciones más difíciles fueron las bolas de mármol o ping pong necesarias para rodar de forma independiente durante 10 segundos. Los estudiantes aprendieron sobre pendientes, fricciones de velocidad, ángulos y más. Mientras tanto, los alumnos de 5º grado han estado trabajando en un libro de tapa, que requiere que los estudiantes dibujen imágenes con sombreado, perspectiva y escala. ¡Hay más que las 3 R’s que sucediendo en O.L.P.H.C.A.B!
