PARISH MISSION STATEMENT Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Redemptorist) Church is a Roman Catholic community where through liturgy, prayer,
Sacramental Ministry, and Christian Education, we are formed into Disciples of the Lord, reaching out to love and wel-come one another, especially the poor and most abandoned among us. As disciples, we seek to follow Jesus’ instruc-tions to “preach” the Gospel through the way we live our lives.

July 19 Luisa Lotuaco July 24 Louis & Patricia Mandl
Thank youThank youThank youThank you to all who give of their time, skills,
labor, care, prayers, treasure and talents to the all the ministries here at Redemptorist. Your good stewardship shines for all, and your dedication to God, ministry, service and the people of our parish are priceless treasure indeed! God bless our Volunteers, and all Good Stewards!
Stewards of the Church
Stewards of God's gifts are not passive beneficiaries. We cooperate with God in our own redemption and in the redemption of others. We are also obliged to be stewards of the Church—collaborators and cooperators in continuing the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, which is the Church's essential mission. This mission—proclaiming and teaching, serving and sanctifying—is our task. It is the personal responsibility of each one of us as stewards of the Church. All members of the Church have their own roles to play in carrying out its mission:
• Parents, who nurture their children in the light of faith;
• Parishioners, who work in concrete ways to make their parishes true communities of faith and vibrant sources of service to the larger community;
• All Catholics, who give generous support—time, money, prayers, and personal service according to their circumstances—to parish and diocesan programs
•and to the universal Church.

Women’s Bible Study
The Women’s Bible Study group will resume meeting on Mondays from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, beginning September 10th.
Our study theme for this fall is Mary—Virgin, Mother and Queen. The study guide written by Father Mitch Pacwa, SJ, looks at Old and New Testament texts that are relevant to the Marian doctrine. Come and learn more about our Blessed Lady.
The cost of the study guide is $10. The order for the study guides will be place on August 15th. Please sign up if you plan to attend so that there are study materials for everyone. Books will be available after August 25th.
To sign up, or if you have questions, please contact Rebecca Alvarez at (816) 520-5285 or email her at [email protected].
Redemptorist Social Services Center
Did you know? Each month the Center gives 2.5 tons of food per month to individuals and families in need. Our biggest needs currently are: soup, beans (canned and dry), green beans, corn, crackers, peanut butter and canned meats. Thank you so much for all of your donations!
On Wednesday, August 15th, Kendra Scott on the Plaza is donating 20% of its sales during the period 5:00 to 7:00 pm to the Center! A copy of the invitation/announcement is below. We hope you can support this event! Thank you!

Baptisms
Baptisms are scheduled on the last Sunday of each month after the 11:30 Mass.
All parents wishing to have their children baptized at Redemptorist must attend a baptism class before the baptism. We strongly prefer that the godparents of the child also attend the class.
Baptism classes are held the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Rectory. Call the parish office at (816) 561-3771 to register or for more information.
Marriages
To marry at Redemptorist Church, at least one of the couple must be a baptized Catholic, and both must be free to marry in the Catholic Church.
Weddings are scheduled on Saturdays at either 11:00 am, 1:30 pm or 6:30 pm. Wedding rehearsals are scheduled the Friday evening before the wedding.
Please contact a priest at least six to nine months prior to your anticipated wedding date. Call the office at (816) 561-3771 for more information.
Reconciliation
Redemptorist provides many opportunities for the sacrament of reconciliation. Confessions are heard one-half hour before each weekday Mass, and on Saturdays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm, or by appointment.
We also have two Parish Penance Services each year, one during Advent and one during Lent.
Please note, there are no confessions on Sundays or on holydays.
Banns of Matrimony
Alexandra Kurth and Michael Garden Erin Lustig and Tyler Weigel
Being holy is not a privilege for the few, as if someone had a large inheritance; in Baptism we all have an inheritance to be able to become saints. Holiness is a vocation for everyone. Thus we are all called to walk on the path of holiness, and this path has a name and a face: the face of Jesus Christ. He teaches us to become saints.
