Basic Computer Components

Power Supply The Power Supply provides "power" to the entire system.

Processor (CPU ) It processes every bit of information. It's basically the brain of the PC.

Motherboard holds every other internal component of the PC. The motherboard (or simply "mobo") is responsible for communication between other parts of the PC. Hard Disk DriveThis is where your files will be stored. This is equivalent to the Micro SD Card of your mobile phone.

Memory StickThe memory handles data to be processed before it goes to the CPU.

Video CardThe eyes of the computer. You want your computer to run smooth on games and graphics, you need a decent video card.

• An Optical Disc Drive: retrieve and/or store data on optical discs like CDs, DVDs, and BDs (Blu-ray discs)

• A sound card produces sounds that can be heard by the user either over speakers or headphones.
