Course Objective: Students will continue working in the on-line community (blogs, images, links, messages and surf the web). Students will show mastery of the language in the book through the task. Students should explore a real English-speaking world on-line.
Course Project: Students will make social links to classmates and other Colombo students through the online community.

Unit Five: Growing UpUnit Objective: Students can work
comfortably with descriptions of past events, writing memories, and recording events. Students expand the social network by learning about their friends past.
Unit Task: When I Was a Kid. Students will choose some of their most important childhood or teenage memories and will document them in a journal entry that can include photographs (show and tell).

Unit Six: Around TownUnit Objective: Students will be able to
describe places, and give directions on how to get there. They will be able to talk about their city to a foreigner. Students will be able to access travel websites and to become interested in virtual tours or places.
Unit Task: Walking Tour Students will identify their favorite spots in the
city and will design a walking tour for visitors. They will post it in the on-line community.
Journal Entry: Feedback from the walking tour.

Unit Seven: Going AwayUnit Objective: Students will continue
thinking about places they would like to go, discuss packing language, activities, etc. on trips. Use this language to talk about getting ready to come to Colombia.
Unit Task: Don’t forget an umbrella Based on the tour they designed, students will
write the accompanying recommendations to follow the tour.
Journal Entry: Recommendation to follow the tour and visit the place.

Unit Eight: At HomeUnit Objective: Students will be able to talk
about home environs and routines, chores, and organization of items and spaces in order to compare them with classmates.
Unit Task: Take Out The Trash Students carry out a survey in their class
about evening routines at home. They write a report.
Journal Entry: A short article about their group’s evening routines.
