Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH) offers a Weekday Education
Program for infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers, (full &
half-day) and school-age care through five-star state licensed
centers at the Mills Home campus in Thomasville.
Filling Your Child’s BucketIt’s so essential to ensure your child is receiving not only the best
daily childcare, but that he or she is being given the vital building
blocks needed to be ready for Kindergarten.
The Fleshman-Pratt Education Center and Robert Idol Child
Development Center at the Mills Home campus in Thomasville offers
the highest quality, developmentally appropriate classroom programs
for your child. Programs for infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers are
offering to anyone in the community. Through the 5-star rated, state
licensed centers, your preschooler’s bucket will be filled with the
skills, both educational and social, he or she needs to be prepared for
that important first year of school.
The Gregg Children’s Center, now located in Robert Idol CDC, offers
before and after school programs and summer care for children in
Kindergarten through 5th grade.
NC Pre-K ProgramThe Robert Idol CDC offers NC Pre-Kindergarten (formerly More at
Four) classes to four-year-olds. The state-funded program is made
possible through the North Carolina Department of Health and
Human Services. The NC Pre-K Program is a high-quality pre-kinder-
garten program that serves children who are at risk and prepares
them for success in school. Pre-kindergarten is a research-proven
strategy for school readiness.
Applications for NC Pre-K are available at the Robert Idol CDC or from
Smart Start of Davidson County. Call the Smart Start office at 336-
249-6688 for more information.
Care Center Programs
SIX WEEKS TO FIVE YEARS OLDThe Fleshman-Pratt Education Center provides quality all day care
for children ages six weeks to five years old in a warm, home-like
environment. Children receive care from highly trained, well-educat-
ed staff to ensure children are ready for Kindergarten. Staff provides
love and a strong sense of security for each child. Teachers deliver
hands-on learning, exploration and discovery opportunities. Children
learn by interacting with their peers, adults and their environment.
Full-time care is available Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m.
until 6:00 p.m.
THREE AND FOUR YEAR OLDSThe Robert Idol Child Development Center offers half-day preschool
programs and classrooms for the NC Pre-Kindergarten program. Half-
day preschool is available for three and four-year-olds during the
school year. All of the programs offer daily activities that focus on a

emphasis of the curricu-
lum is to provide an age
appropriate kindergarten
readiness program so chil-
dren enter school ready to
learn. Half-day enrollment
is from 7:30 a.m. to noon

are from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15
p.m. during the school
year.
KINDERGARTEN TO FIFTH GRADEThe Gregg Children’s Center at Robert Idol CDC provides before and
after school programs for children in kindergarten to 5th grade.
Transportation services are available to children attending these
elementary schools: Briar Creek, Fairgrove, Hasty, Liberty Drive,
Thomasville Primary, and Pilot. Dedicated staff members direct
inside and outside activities, and homework time. Field trips are
offered as part of the program. Breakfast and snacks are provided
daily. The program offers all-day care on teacher workdays, school
holidays and during the summer. Summertime swimming at the on-
campus pool is no charge. Care is available Monday through Friday
beginning at 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. There is no extra charge for
teacher workdays and holidays.
