Was born in Liège (Belgium) in 1548
He died in Stuttgart (Germany) the 26 of November in 1594
Was a pupil of Lassus at the Bavarian ducal court in Munich

Works he did- Worked as a chorister (before 1563)- Adult singer, music teacher and
composer (1565 - 1589)- In succession to his father in lawLudwig Daser (1589) in a work called Hofkapellmeister
HIS FAMILY (1)
His father in law (as you saw before) was Ludwig Daser.
- he took a post (the one Balduin success in 1589) in 1572 after loosing the equivalent in Munich
He got married the 13th of February in 1580
COMPOSITIONS (1)
He’s bests compositions are the Sacrae Cantiones
That are divided in twentyMotets - the firsts ten are written in five parts. - then six motets in six parts - and finally motets divided in seven, eight and nine parts
COMPOSITIONS (2)
He also wrote other motets called “the German Motets”
These ones are very similar to the other I told before
Are divided in eight motets which is not as much as the Sacrae Cantiones
COMPOSITIONS (3)
A part of the others he wrote several compositions not very good so people didin’t
like it.
It often were short and not very adapted to the characteristics of the epoch.
ANECDOTE
When he was a choirboy in the Württemberg Hofkapelle in Stuttgart and in the summer of
1563 when he was 15 he broke his voice.
So he couldn’t sang good any more.
