North Court Installation
Big Ideas
• Integration of art, ritual, performance• N.C. installation to suggest Balinese
village during festival time (every 220 days temples have an anniversary)
• Ephemeral quality of offerings (we plan on having offerings being made throughout)
• Most of the items in the exhibition intended for use in ritual, some in performance

Considerations• videos in all galleries with sound
– gallery 1: 8-minute intro video w/ narrator + directional speakers + open captioning
– gallery 2: two videos 1) music only showing ritual dancing of barong mask 2) about royal cremation and village cremation with open captioning (possibly narrator on part)
– gallery 3: two videos 1) clips showing examples of dance, music, costume with music and open captioning 2) shadow performance excerpts from the Mahabharata with voice of shadowmaster, open captions

Considerations
• North Court programming– some weekends will have artist in
residence--please incorporate into your tour by ending there and encouraging audience to participate
• Media Tour– 6 stops have a short video clip different
from monitors
