• Equipment: a two foot length of 2x4 or 4x4 wood; a volunteer.

• How long can the volunteer balance on one foot on the piece of wood with eyes open? (Stop at 3 minutes.)

• Then try the other foot?

• How long can the volunteer do the same with eyes closed?

• Repeat the experiment two or three times (depending on time available).

• What’s the average length of time balancing? Eyes open? Eyes closed?

• Record/time the experiences.
