Bakersfield’s Local Solar CompanyEarns Honors among Top100 in U.S.Back to the Bakersfield BasicsSun Solar Energy Solutions, a Bakerseld solar panel inte-grator, has created a lot of chatter in recent days. The locally owned and operated solar company has gained momentum on the national corporate competitors, and their future is looking even brighter thanks to plenty of sunshine.

Solar Power World Magazine, the solar industry’s leading media resource with its print publication, web site and social media outlets, recently released the industry’s most denitive ranking of solar installers. The Top 100 Solar Contractors list oers the industry a look at how they stack up against their peers across all solar markets —resi-dential, commercial and utility systems. The ranking includes companies small and large, privately owned as well as publicly traded.

“We would like to congratulate the 100 companies who made our list through their hard work and dedication to the solar industry,” says Frank Andorka, editorial director at Solar Power World. “We hope that these companies will serve as an inspiration not only to their peers and solar industry colleagues, but to the general public as well.”

Sun Solar, Founded by President, Je Periera, a Bakerseld native and Garces high graduate, attributes the welcomed success to 3 basic principles, “We focus on the basics of business. Providing Superior Products, Qual-ity Installation, and giving customers respect and integrity. “Growing up in Rosedale, I understood family values, and treating people right would develop into long lasting relationships.”

“When I started in the solar business, I had to wear all the hats in the operation. I physically was on every site visit, and installed every solar panel myself.” After Je’s hard work started ourishing into results, he now had another challenge. “How do I grow our business sustainably, without compromising our values?” The answer, “I needed someone who’s experienced in the solar industry. Someone who shares my values, and can help implement my vision of growth. Not just another employee to answer the phone and be given tasks.” This was integral in growing the company. After months of searching, and discussions, Je decided to pick up the phone and call someone he knew t the prole. “I met Scott years ago when I rst got started in the solar industry. At

the time, he worked as a manager for a dierent solar contractor.” Je recalls. “I remember he was knowledge-able, and had a great reputation. The dynamics he would bring to the team are invaluable”

In January 2011, Scott Ryan, Vice President, decided to join Periera’s eorts in hopes to build a company based on their vision of a better way to provide solar power to homeowners. “In our rst meeting, we came to the understanding that individually, we can each accomplish many things, but by combining our eorts, we could create some-thing special. We have a unique perspective of traditional values, and goals. That is something missing in most businesses today.” Says Scott Ryan, Vice President

When asked to reect on 2012, Scott credits a number of factors. “We are so proud of our team for all of their dedication and long hours, as well the overwhelming support we’ve received from the community. Bakerseld is such a great town. We are blessed to have a successful campaign in 2012, and 2013 is shaping up to be an exciting year.”

“We quickly developed goals we felt were within reach and obtainable. 2011 was a time of a lot of evolution, and ended up a sensational year. We’ve just continued to build from there.”

Ryan also attributes industry growth to great nancing and sky high utility bills. “The nancing programs avail-able for homeowners currently is as good as it gets. These programs really help families. We are literally elimi-nating the need to buy expensive electricity from the utility company with $0 money out of pocket. It’s simply amazing!”
