Nomination form, trial and training information
Calling all talented young sports people to step forward to represent the District and become part of ‘Team Three Rivers’ in the 2013 Herts Youth Games.
The Competition Wodson Park, Ware Sunday 7 July
The Herts Youth Games is one of the counties greatest sporting events with over 1,000 young people participating in 10 sports as representatives of the 10 districts across Hertfordshire.
The games have become synonymous with all that is good about sporting competition and although the competition will deliver winners the emphasis is very much on taking part.
Sports involved in the 2013 Herts Youth Games are:
Sportshall Athletics U11 (Year 6 or below) mixed boys/girlsBadminton U12 (Year 7 or below) mixed boys/girlsBasketball U12 (Year 7 or below) boysBoccia U19 (Year 13 or below) mixed boys/girlsCricket U11 (Year 6 or below) girlsFencing U13 (Year 8 or below) mixed boys/girlsFootball U9 (Year 4 or below) girlsHockey U13 (Year 8 or below) mixed girls/boysNetball U15 (Year 10 or below) girlsTable Tennis U14 (Year 9 or below) mixed boys/girls
The Nominations and Trials
Step 1A: Three Rivers District Council is organising the trials and training for Sportshall Athletics and Table Tennis. To nominate a player for one of these sports please complete the form and return by Monday 22 April 2013
Step 1B: For details of all trial and training sessions on all other sports please visit www.hertsyouthgames.co.uk.
Step 2: Once we receive your nomination form we will contact you about the trial dates and check your eligibility. You need to be the correct age and gender, live or go to school in Three Rivers or attend a club for that sport based in Three Rivers. (Please note for some sports players at County level or above will not be eligible).
Step 3: The trials run as a training session in that particular sport. The coaches will then look at the players and choose a squad to train with over the few weeks leading up to the games. Trials will take place after the Easter holidays.
Step 4: Following the trials you will be contacted to let you know if you are successful or not. Those who have, will be given training times to attend leading up to the event. Those who have not been successful will also be notified. (Please note trial and training dates may run on evenings or weekends).
Step 5: Competition day is Sunday 7 July 2013 at Wodson Park, Ware, SG12 0UQ.
