Electricity Supply for SchoolsThe latest contract for electricity supply to schools commenced with Energia from May 1st 2018 and is for 36 months duration. It is important to be aware that if your school is outside of the OGP bundle, or is not already covered under a formal fixed-term contract with one of the Electricity Supply companies, then it is probable that your school is being charged at a ‘default’ rate, which will be higher than the rate you could be achieving within the OGP bundle. If you wish to add your school to the OGP bundle for electricity, please contact the OGP helpdesk on 076 100 8000 or email them directly at [email protected] to engage with the registration process.

Top Energy Tips As the Autumn approaches you can cut energy costs by making the most of natural daylight and remembering to switch off lights when rooms are not in use:
n Switch off lights when daylight is adequate, especially the row of lights nearest the windows.
n Actively use window blinds to promote daylight and control glare.
n Exterior lights left on during the day and all night waste energy. Use time clocks to switch lights, make sure they are adjusted when the clocks change. Read more

I contacted the Schools Procurement Unit over the summer break with regard to facilitating an e-tender
for our school’s Engineering room. From start to finish the communication was clear, precise and timely to
guide each member through the process. No matter the question, whether it was big or small, it was always dealt
with professionally and quickly which was incredibly important to us. I would highly praise the role the Schools Procurement Unit had to play in this process and we are
very grateful to them, in particular Fiona Coy. - Hansfield ETSS, Barnwell Road, Hansfield, Dublin
I could not recommend the Schools Procurement Unit highly enough. They
basically did all the work in terms of preparing a tender document for Catering
Services, and then provided excellent advice and guidance on the tenders
received.- Scoil Mhuire, Trim, Co Meath
