B ZERO AFLA M1
The most rapid and cost effective ELISA test kit for aflatoxin M1
Aflatoxin M1
• Aflatoxin M1 is a toxic metabolite resulting from the
digestion of Aspergillus Flavus mycotoxin aflatoxin B1
in dairy animals; the main source of contamination are feed and cereals.
• Aflatoxin M1 is particularly toxic for liver and kidneys.
• Aflatoxin M1 is excreted in milk within 24 hours from
intake of contaminated feed. Clearance is reached within 1 and 4 days from contamination.
Product overview
• Assay principle: competitive enzyme immunoassay
• Application: raw milk
• Measuring range: 10 – 200 ng/l
• Detection limit: 10 ng/l aflatoxin M1 in milk
• Assay time: 30 minutes
• Sample preparation: none
• Limit of quantification: 20 ng/l(100% sensitivity)
• Mean intra-assay CV: 5%
• Mean inter-assay CV: 8%
The B ZERO format
The B ZERO format
• The use of just one standard and the absence of any replicate make B ZERO AFLA M1 the most cost effective solution for aflatoxin M1 screening.
• B ZERO brings together speed, ease of use, and reliability in a single ELISA kit.
Ideal for who implements few
samples per analysis as well as who has
high throughput needs!
About sample preparation
• Sample preparation is a fundamental step for any analysis; its complexity has a relevant incidence on the total time the analysis requires.
• For aflatoxin M1 analysis, traditional ELISA kits usually require to cool
the milk sample, to centrifuge it for approximately 10 minutes and to take away the fat layer.
Bottle-neck procedure when many samples have to be analysed
Additional source of error
How many samples can you centrifuge together?
How many vials do you need to defat your samples?
How much time do you need to prepare your milk samples?
Avoidingmilk manipulation
• TECNA B ZERO AFLA M1 is
the first ELISA kit for
aflatoxin M1 that brings
together the high quality
performances of
traditional ELISA tests and
strip-tests ease of use.
Thanks to the highly specific antibody and to the perfect in-matrix calibration B ZERO AFLA
M1 is the first ELISA kit
that does not require defatting to analyze
aflatoxin M1 in milk!
• Specific experiments were performed in order to evaluate the correlation
between results of analysis of defatted and not defatted milk on more than 60 samples
• No accuracy or precision statistical differences aroused when analyzing not defatted milk (correlation between defatted and not defatted milk was r2=0.96)
