Introduction
smartDriver is a future of active Advance Driver Assistance System
smartDriver has tremendous market potential and very few competitors,
already in Billion Dollars, therefore creates huge attraction for the investors
and entrepreneurs
Our foreign competitors recently have achieved significant success, valued
few million dollars, only through very limited functionality or with costly
dedicated external hardware support
Right now no competitor company is identified in India
Introduction
smartDriver is providing smart solutions for zero accidents through
smartphone apps only
smartDriver will drastically enhance safety of driver, vehicle and
infrastructure across the globe and hence save valuable life and reduce
property loss
Our team has quality experience of working in the domain of intelligent
solutions for road transportation system
We are anticipating Rs. 25 lac for software's, simulator, additional human
expertise and marketing support for showcasing our app to the world
Problem
• The distraction and drowsiness of driver are the major cause of on road
accidents and related fatalities.
• Although passive driver assistance systems are in the vehicle but they are
costly and intrusive.
• Vehicle and driver safety are big concern but cost effective and precise
solutions are not available
Opportunity
• Intelligent Transportation System is in infant stage, specifically in developing
countries like India
• Few applications such as Automatic Toll Plazas, Smart Expressways and Real
Time Travel Information has just began.
• Vehicle and driver safety systems are next big thing in such countries
• Advanced Driver Assistance System will experience exponential growth over
the next couple of decades
Need
• Realisation of ZERO ACCIDENT CARS
• Save valuable Human Life
• Protect the costly vehicle
• Reduce the damage of infrastructure
• Cost effective and non intrusive active ADAS
• Present competitors have very limited functionality or uses costly dedicated
hardware interface
Proposed Solutions/Features
Warning Systems
• Lane Departure
• Front vehicle collision (day/night)
• Traffic sign recognition and traffic light detection
• Road potholes, ditches and bumps(speed breakers)
• Pedestrians, bicyclist and motorcyclist
• Stray animals and other Non moving obstacles
(drums, road repair warning placards)
Proposed Features continued…
Bluetooth based voice operated calling and answering
• Caller name through speaker of phone
• If accepted by user through voice command then call is connected to speakers
of car audio system
• If rejected then call disconnected
• If rejected with message then ‘car driving will call later’ message is send to the
caller through sms or whatsapp etc…
• Calling using voice command
Proposed Features continued…
• Driver Fatigue Detection: Head tilting, eye blinking and yawning
• Augmented reality based navigation system
• Pedestrian safety system- Walk and Talk while road crossing
Versions
• Ver1.0- Lane Departure Warning System & Frontal Collision Warning System (Vehicle, Pedestrians, Animals, Bicyclist, Motorcyclist, Non moving objects)
• Ver 2.0- Driver Fatigue Detection and Warning
• Ver 3.0- Bluetooth based voice operated calling
• Ver 4.0- Augmented reality based navigation system
Advantages of smartDriver over existing ADAS
Features of Existing ADAS and smartDriver
• Lane departure warning,
• Forward collision warning for
• front vehicle,
• pedestrian,
• bicyclist,
• motorcyclist,
• animals and
• other obstacle
This proposal will also have • potholes,
• speed breakers detection and warning
• traffic light detection and
• traffic sign recognition
Advantages of smartDriver over existing ADAS
• Driver fatigue detection and warning system
• It will also have bluetooth based voice operated calling and answering facility
• Augmented reality based navigation system
Working prototype of proposed system
• First version results of smartDriver is ready (Combined Scenario)
• Forward Collision Warning (Day)
• Forward Collision Warning (Night)
• Lane Departure Warning System
• Animal Detection System
Barriers of Entry
• Lack of human resource with intelligent computer vision system development skills
• Lack of funding for marketing or showcasing the product to the world
• Lack of impressive background except long association with RTM Nagpur University
Sample Feature-Benefits Table
Features Benefits
Lane Departure Warning System On Road Accident mitigation
due to driver’s distraction and
adverse road, weather and light
conditions
Forward Collision Warning System

Company Status/Progress
• Founder : Dr.Prashant Sharma (PhD, Electronics)
• Quality research in the domain of Intelligent Transportation System at PG and
Ph.D level under Dr. Preeti Bajaj (Director, GHRCE, Nagpur)
• Received accolades and inspiration from top notch research fraternity in the field
of Self Driving Cars and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems including –
• Prof. Alberto Broggi (VisLab, University of Parma, Italy)
• Prof. Mohan Trivedi(Laboratory of Intelligent & Safe Automobiles, UCSD, USA)
• Prof. Antonio Lopez (Autonomous Univ. of Barcelona, Spain)
Company Status/Progress
Primary results have started pouring out
• Lane departure warning system,
• Forward collision warning system(day/night),
• Animal detection and warning
• Scenario building using PreScan Simulator is done under day/night/rain/fog
conditions
• First version of smartDriver is successfully simulated
Request for getting streamlined guidance from renowned universities is
acknowledged from University of Parma, Italy and Autonomous University of
Barcelona, Spain
Market
• The market for the proposed system is global and dense.
• The system will cater to all the vehicle owners with smartphone
• The exact figure could be estimated from the database of
• Vehicle owner across the world
• Smartphone owners with vehicle across the globe
• Target production of automobile companies for the next few years
• Estimated rise in smartphone user for the next few years
Market challenges and Company’s potential
• Market Challenges
• No proven credibility of active ADAS
• Lack of penetration (specifically vision based systems)
• Still a part of very high end luxurious vehicles

Useful Technologies and References for Computer Vision based ADAS
• LISA(UCSD,USA)- Lane Tracking system using Hybrid Kalman and Particle filter
• UAB(Barcelona,Spain)- intelligent systems for vision based pedestrian detection and warning
• VisLab(Univ. of Parma,Italy)- Real world database of varying road, light and weather conditions
• Embedded Vision Summit(May, 11-13, 2015) – Santa Clara California—Engineers interested in incorporating visual intelligence into electronic systems and software
• SarmoTek and videantis (both ADAS)
Advantages
• Intelligent computer vision technology is the key part of system
• No additional hardware is required only smartphone is enough
• No vehicle design modification is required
• Extensive search has been made to check for any patent infringement created
by the proposed app but no match has been identified which shows more than
20% similarity
