Bobby Lewis Cox Bobby Lewis Cox, of Whitley City, Ky., departed this life on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky. He was 67 years, six months, and four days of age. He was born on Aug. 29, 1944 in McCreary County, Ky. to the late Elmer Lee Cox and Ellen Martin Cox. He was of the Baptist faith. June was 90 years old, born on Nov. 17, 1921 to Garrett and Maggie Broyles in Gatliff, Ky. Gatliff was a place she spoke of often as being a quiet and peaceful place. June, as a child loved to play and she was challenged by friends to hop the cow catcher on the front of a train engine for fun. She was fearless until one time when her father was waiting for her when she hopped off. June loved having fun and enjoy- ing everyone she met. During World War II June worked in Baltimore, Md. as a “Rosie the Riveter” in a plant that built planes for the war effort. June was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Hunter; her parents, as well as her sister, Norma Moses; twin brother, Garrett Broyles; and grandchild, Chole Reaster. June retired from Toledo Trust where she made numerous friends and con- tinued with a number of them walking in the mall as well as trips all over the country to places she’d never been. June is survived by her daughters, Becky (Kip) Vasher, Patricia (Bob) Ziegler, Barbra (Ken) Phillips, and Shelly Hunter. She has seven grandchildren, Andrea Maccariella, Anthony Vasher, Anna Ziegler, Erin Ziegler, Patrick Reaster, Kristina Vastag, and Kimberly Phillips. She has three great-grandchil- dren, Logan Maccariella, Megan Maccariella, and Thomas Ziegler. She has many nieces and nephews and their children. She enjoyed being outside in the sunshine and spent several winters in Florida with her sister and family. She had fond memories of those times.
