of Whitley City, Ky., departed this life on Sunday, March 4 , 2012 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky. He was 67 years, six months, and four days of age. He was born on Aug. 29, 1944 in McCreary County, Ky. to the late Elmer Lee Cox and Ellen Martin Cox. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by three daughters, Sonya Ahlbrand of Indiana, Jennifer Cox of Williamsburg, Ky. and Bobbie Joe Cox of Xenia, Ohio; two sons, Jimmy Cox of Virginia and Garrett Bryant of McCreary County, Ky.; his mother, Ellen Cox of Pine Knot, Ky.; five sisters, Zora Bryant of Lexington, Ky., Judy Bryant (Darrell) and Dora Bryant (Johnny), all of Pine Knot, Ky., Christine Scalf (Randall) of Corbin, Ky., and Louise Perry of Rome, Ga.; seven brothers, Nathaniel Cox (Linda) of Pine Knot, Ky., James Roy Cox (Sherry) and Andrew Cox (Sue), all of Williamsburg, Ky., Lee Edward Cox (Margaret) of Pine Knot, Ky., David Cox of New Liberty, Ky., Charles Cox of Williamsburg, Ky. and Roger Cox of LaGrange, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation was after 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home.

Mr. Cox will lie-in-state one hour before the service on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the New Liberty Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the New Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Sumner and Rev. Dillard Bryant officiating. He will be laid to rest in the New Liberty Cemetery in McCreary County, Ky.

Ky., departed this life on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at his home. He was 81 years, six months, and 19 days of age. He was born on Aug. 23, 1930 in Whitley County, Ky. to the late Joe Manes and Mary Peace Manes. Hobert loved to coon and fox hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Powers Manes of Lily, Ky.; four children, Tommy Manes (Shirley) of Siler, Ky., Ronnie Manes (Retha) of Williamsburg, Ky., Johnny Manes (Charlotte) of London, Ky. and Randy Manes (Bobbie Jean) of Corbin, Ky.; two step-children, Hugh Shelton (Taffy) of Greenbrier, Tenn. and Bob Shelton (Lou Ann) of Delta, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Manes (Faye) of Siler, Ky.; three sis-ters, Fetta Renfro of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Joie Lee and Geneva Rhodes (R.C.), all of Siler, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation was after 6 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home.

The funeral service was at 1 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Green officiating.

He was laid to rest in the Wells Cemetery in Gausdale, Ky. Matthew Manes, Jared Manes, Chris Newby, Matt Buehrer, Jeromy Howard and Dustin Howard served as pallbearers.

of Williamsburg, Ky., departed this life on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 at the Baptist Regional Medica l Center in Corbin, Ky.

She was 83 years, seven months, and two days of age. She was born on July 26, 1928 in Whitley County, Ky. to the late George C. Berry Peace and Nora Sullivan Peace. She was a member of the Whetstone Christian Church. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Cye Renfro.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Kemberley Faulkner (Michael), Brenda Jo Fuson (Olan), Ralph Childress (Penny) and Jerry Ray Croley, all of Williamsburg, Ky.; great-niec-es, Katlin Moses (Rocky), Terri Jo Fuson and Lori Shea Fuson, all of Williamsburg, Ky.; great- nephew, Adam Childress and fiancé Meagan of Williamsburg, Ky.; step daughter, Donna Rains (Jerry) of Williamsburg, Ky.; step grandchild, Jerry Rains of Williamsburg, Ky.; a step great-grand-child; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

She is survived by her two ch i ld r en , Erica Beard of East Bernstadt, Ky. and Tequila Sierra Shirer of Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Cavan Isaiah and Serinity; her mother, Gladys Bird of Williamsburg, Ky.; one brother, Wayne Bird and his wife Tammi of Williamsburg, Ky.; her half sister, Teresa Watson and her husband Ernest of Rockholds, Ky.; her nephews, Braden and Kaden; her nieces, Vanessa and Crystal; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Durham, of Corbin, Ky., departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 at her home.

She was 73 years, nine months, and 29 days of age. She was born on April 25, 1940 to the late Leonard Thomas Warner and Mary Jane Gran t Warner. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Leland Durham. She attend-ed the Buffalo Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Timothy Scott Durham of Corbin, Ky. and Russell Durham of Kentucky; one daughter, Annette Miller of Corbin, Ky.; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Freeman and Betty Ann Paul, both of California; two brothers, Bill Warner and Cliff Warner, both of California; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

The graveside memorial service was at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Canadatown Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Sester and Rev. Vernon Jones officiating.

June Maxine HunterJune Maxine Hunter,

passed away on March 1, 2012, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. June was 90 years old, born on Nov. 17, 1921 to Garrett and Maggie Broyles in Gatliff, Ky. Gatliff was a place she spoke of often as being a quiet and peaceful place. June, as a child loved to play and she was challenged by friends to hop the cow catcher on the front of a train engine for fun. She was fearless until one time when her father was waiting for her when she hopped off. June loved having fun and enjoy-ing everyone she met. During World War II June worked in Baltimore, Md. as a “Rosie the Riveter” in a plant that built planes for the war effort.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Hunter; her parents, as well as her sister, Norma Moses; twin brother, Garrett Broyles; and grandchild, Chole Reaster. June retired from Toledo Trust where she made numerous friends and con-tinued with a number of them walking in the mall as well as trips all over the country to places she’d never been.

June is survived by her daughters, Becky (Kip) Vasher, Patricia (Bob) Ziegler, Barbra (Ken) Phillips, and Shelly Hunter. She has seven grandchildren, Andrea Maccariella, Anthony Vasher, Anna Ziegler, Erin Ziegler, Patrick Reaster, Kristina Vastag, and Kimberly Phillips. She has three great-grandchil-dren, Logan Maccariella, Megan Maccariella, and Thomas Ziegler. She has many nieces and nephews and their children.

She enjoyed being outside in the sunshine and spent several winters in Florida with her sister and family. She had fond memories of those times.

Family and friends may visit Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. in Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel 8300 Lewis Avenue Temperance, MI. Cremation will follow.

Mom is already missed and we’re sure she’s hav-ing a great reunion with her family.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contribu-tions be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family also wishes to thank her nurse, Diane and the many aides she met and took such gentle care of her.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hardee Cox of Corbin, Ky.; four sons, Silas Cox and Jason Cox (April), both of Plant City, Fla., and Walter Cox Jr. and Shawn Allen Cox, both of Corbin, Ky.; six grand-children; two sisters, Patricia Walters and Melissa Rouse of Pennington Gap, Va.; two brothers, Clifford Cox Sr. of the Faber Community and Bert Cox of Williamsburg, Ky.; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
