HISTORY
2000-2005
• AWS was in the planning phase. • EC2 is launched to selected customers.
2006-2007• AWS released it’s first version with few services(EC2, S3, Amazon Simple DB, SQS)
2008-2010
• AWS exits beta and offers a service level agreement.• Added few features (autoscaling, elastic load balancing, CloudWatch, CloudFront, Elastic Block Store, CloudFormation, Simple Notification Service, and
Route 53)
2011-2013• Expanding to new regions.(Europe, Asia, Australia)
2014-2016• Adding new feature such as machine learning, AWS Lambda, AI.

• A Region is a physical location in the world where we have multiple Availability Zones
• Availability Zones consist of one or more discrete data centers, each with redundant power, networking and connectivity, housed in separate facilities.
• The AWS Cloud operates 42 Availability Zones within 16 geographic Regions around the world.
