In humble expression of our deep sorrow andrepentance for the sin of our fellow humanbeings which has become our own sin, let usanoint our foreheads with ashes and confess oursin before the Almighty God who is the Judge of

all the earth.

Prayer of Confession C: Have mercy on us, O God, according to your

steadfast love; according to your abundant

mercy blot out our transgressions. Wash usthoroughly from our iniquity, and cleanse usfrom our sin! Create in us a clean heart, O God,and renew a right spirit within us. Cast us notaway from your presence, and take not your

Holy Spirit from us. Restore to us the joy of yoursalvation, and uphold us with a willing spirit.
