My Culture Project
By Anders Webb
Thesis Statement
• I am 100% American• My ancestors are from Italy,
England, Norway, Sweden, Germany, France, Ireland, Scotland, the Netherlands, and other European countries.
That means my culture comes from Europe
1. Lots of people in our family play music or sing
Beethoven Bach
Liszt For example…
This is me playing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5

My teacher is Mr. Garcia, who took piano from teachers all the way back to Liszt, Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart
My mother’s mother liked piano, too, and her mother did, too!
2. Religion
• My family is mostly Christian, and we liked church music, too.
Our family sang music from Europe, like these hymns from Italy and England
Easter and Christmas
• We passed down many celebrations, mostly from England and Scotland (we think).
Once my birthday fell on Easter
• April 12
3. Food and Family
• We pass down a lot of recipes such as cookies, cakes and bread. Some are Dutch, German, English, and Scandinavian.
My great grandmother’s recipe for rolls
My mom says that her mom (and her mother’s mom) made really
good spaghetti sauce!
Conclusion
• My culture comes from Europe as you can see from my presentation of music, religion, and food
Snickerdoodles
• Probably German in origin, a messed up use of the German word Schneckennudeln, which means "snail noodles."
• It could also be from "snicker,” from the Dutch word snekrad, or the German word Schnecke, which both describe a snail-like shape.
• No one knows!
