Success Of RetailEX ASEAN 2015There were more than 300 participating brands from over 10 countries showcasing their latest technologies and products in a 5,000 square meters of exhibition area.The exhibiting companies presented their respective strengths in the areas of manufacturing, assembling and end products. The show covers products under the categories of retail system and technology, retail concept design and �tting, retail cards & payment solution, etc.The 3-day trade exhibition attracted 5,161 trade visitors, out of which 976 were overseas visitors from 26 countries.

Thailand Retail Market Opportunities • ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) plans to integrate Southeast Asia into a single market which will draw more foreign tourists to Thailand.• Thai Shopping Mall developers plan to invest more than USD2.8 billion over the next 3 years to expand and open new stores as part of a drive to promote Thailand as a regional shopping hub. From this year to 2017, they will expand their retail space from 18 million square metres to 21 million square metres.• Thailand is the second largest economy and second largest consumer market in Southeast Asia. With a market of 67.7 million consumers, consumption expenditure takes up more than half of Thailand’s GDP.

The Potential Of the Thai Retail Marketis immense with Thailand being a major tourism hub of ASEAN, driven by the annual increment in tourism numbers as well as the increasing shopping expenditures of the local consumers.

The number of food and non-food organized retail chain stores are projected to increase to 412,640 stores (12% increase) and 23,618 (approx. 100% increase) stores respectively in 2020.

Thailand Shopping Centres Association members have also decided to invest substantially in infrastructure mega-projects between 2015 to 2017 with over 500,000 sqm in combined commercial areas, which includes plans to develop distinctive lifestyle malls. In addition, Thai Shopping Mall Developers plan to invest over USD 2.8 Billion over the next 3 years to expand and open new stores in Thailand.

RetailEX ASEAN 2016 will be co-located with POS & Auto ID 2016 presenting a complementary conducive marketing platform to bene�t from the crossover of visitors.
