All perspective parents want a healthy baby, but there is not one par-enting book available that provides accurate advice on just how to ensure that your baby is born and grows up healthy, strong, attractive and intelligent—except e Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care.

e health of your baby begins before he or she is conceived, with a nutrient-dense diet for both mother and father. Sally Fallon Morell and Dr. Tom Cowan explain the dietary practices used by traditional peoples to ensure that baby develops to optimum potential. is nutrient-dense diet should continue through pregnancy and breastfeeding.

e books devotes considerable attention to baby’s diet as he grows—from home-made raw milk formula if mother is unable to nurse, to nutrient-dense weaning foods like pureed liver and egg yolk. Healthy fats like butter and lard, eggs and meat from pastured animals, raw whole milk and cod liver oil for the basis of a healthy diet for growing children.

e Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care addresses parental concerns about interventions during pregnancy, the dangers of vaccinations and convention-al medical practices for newborns. A section devoted to the illnesses of childhood explains the role of fever in strengthening the immune system and provides details instructions on natural therapies for everything from autism to whooping cough.

e work of Rudolf Steiner supports the book’s emphasis on the child’s spiritual requirement for imaginative play. Praise for The Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care“e Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care will be a cherished refer-ence for many generations to come. Carefully referenced and thoughtfully pre-sented, this important work intelligently weaves traditional wisdom with modern treatments, providing precise instructions useful to parents and practitioners alike. I will recommend that all of my patients read it from cover to cover.”Lindy Woodard MDPediatric Alternatives, Mill Valley, California

“I remember so clearly standing in front of the pregnancy and child care section at the bookstore when my husband and I rst decided to start a family, trying to g-ure out which books to buy. My joy and excitement were tempered by confusion and dismay over the excess of conicting advice. e Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care is a germane and much needed resource for empowering parents with the necessary instruction to raise a healthy, well balanced child amid the scores of seriously awed baby and child care books available today.”Sarah PopeThe Healthy Home Economist

“I warmly recommend e Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby and Child Care. e authors share not only a deep knowledge about food and its value for health, but are also parents and grandparents with great love for children. We live in a world full of misinformation about food and health, the truth is often hard to nd. is is one of the true and reliable sources of information for parents on how to bring up healthy children.”Natasha Campbell-McBride MDAuthor of The Gut & Psychology Syndrome

“An indispensable guide to pregnancy, childbirth and child rearing, informed by common sense, ancestral wisdom and sound science. If every couple read this book prior to becoming pregnant, and followed its nourishing and empowering advice, the future of health care would be profoundly and positively changed.”Kaayla T. Daniel, PhDVice President, The Weston A. Price FoundationAuthor of The Whole Soy Story: The Dark Side of America’s Favorite Health Food

“Often in our modern society we expect to do things right by starting from scratch and assembling our knowledge piecemeal using the scientic method. In e Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care, the authors show how we have done just that with the art of child rearing, leaving the accumulated wisdom of the ages by the wayside. In the grand tradition of Weston Price, Fallon Morell and Cowan use modern science to explore the wisdom of ancient tradition, pro-viding a rm foundation for a nutritional approach that will nourish both mother and child, allowing each to grasp hold of the gift of radiant and vibrant health.”Chris Masterjohn PhDAuthor of The Daily Lipid at Cholesterol-And-Health.Com
