IMI ACCREDITATIONS BSI10125

AOM009 RESISTANCE SPOT WELDING / MAG WELDING

AOM030 WELDED PANEL / SECTION MAG / MIG BRAZE / BOND / RIVET

AOM133 BONDING AND MECHANICAL FASTENING (COLD REPAIR TECHNIQUES)

IMI Accreditation Resistance Spot Welding (BS1140) Mag Welding (BS4872)

This module covers the welding requirements for IMI Accreditation and is a pre-requisite for candidates

wishing to achieve IMI Senior Panel Accreditation. The certification must be ‘current’ (issued within the last two years), and must be quality assured by an Awarding Organisation that is recognised by the IMI.

IMI Accreditation Welded Panel / Section MAG / MIG / Braze / Bond / Rivet

This module is about the replacement of a welded section within the construction of a vehicle body

shell. The candidate will be required to cut a specified section from a welded panel (i.e. a sill section) without causing damage to other vehicle systems or the vehicle structure.

IMI Accreditation Bonding and Mechanical Fastening

AOM133 is intended for technicians whose job role involves the repair of vehicle bodies.

This unique module covers the replacement of a panel section which is secured by adhesive / bonding and mechanical fastenings. It has been developed so that technicians can prove their capability in following researched repair methods, to carry out modern joining techniques and meet the criteria relating to BS10125.

The module also assesses technicians’ ability to follow a researched repair method to remove existing bonded and mechanically fixed panels, apply blind rivets, self-piercing rivets, flow form rivets and use structural adhesives in conjunction with a reinforcement plate.

VEHICLE DAMAGE ASSESSOR (VDA) - PART A + B ASSESSMENT

AOM006 MET COMPLEX

VDA assessment is normally carried out following pre-training (full route) or at Reaccreditation every three years.

Accreditation typically takes just one day to achieve, with individuals assessed against industry-agreed standards. On completion of these units the candidate

will be able to practically demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills required to complete a safe and appropriate repair specification.

IMI Accreditation (Vehicle Damage Assessor) Full Route Requires Reaccreditation every 3 years.

IMI Accreditation MET Complex

This module is to ensure that the candidate has the ability to remove & refit vehicle exterior and interior trim without damaging either the vehicle bodywork or its systems. The candidate will need to remove and refit items including bumper cover which will include system sensors (such as parking sensors) and their

associated components, headlamp(s) of the Xenon (HID) type, exterior door handle and associated components including the door card / trim. The candidate will be required to realign the components (body panel(s) / headlamp) using the correct workshop equipment which may include the use of diagnostic equipment / scan tools. The candidate should ensure that the system(s) are operating as per vehicle manufacturer specification.

NEW FOR 2019!

AOM012 3D WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

AOM012 is intended for technicians and industry professionals who require the knowledge of alignment data and systems. This will include ensuring that the vehicle is initially set up to the correct specifications and then using industry recognised wheel alignment equipment from Hoffmann Megaline record the readings obtained from the vehicle and compare them against the vehicle manufacturer data. The candidate will be required to adjust the vehicle’s wheel alignment to the vehicle manufacturer specification.

This is a pre-requisite before completion of ADAS calibration and relates to a large range of Automotive sectors.

The technician / candidate should be working in the Automotive industry and have at least three years’ experience to ensure they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to replace various components, including returning vehicle systems to manufacturer specification and diagnosing system faults.

This Level 3 course (IMI Certified AOM012) is designed to give the technician an in depth knowledge of wheel alignment theory, interpretation of data, use of alignment equipment and adjustment.

AOM230 ADVANCED DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEMS (ADAS) TECHNOLOGIES AND CALIBRATION

AOM230 is intended for technicians whose job role involves working with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

This unique module is designed to ensure that the technician has the ability to calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It demonstrates the technician’s ability to identify and correctly interpret information relating to a specific vehicle and its ADAS features to determine which method of calibration is required.

The module also assesses the technician’s ability to identify/locate and follow software-specific recalibration methods during the assessment process. They will also be required to use HELLA GUTMANN CSC tools and equipment in order to demonstrate their ability to calibrate two ADAS sensors on a vehicle with a minimum of two operating systems.

Technicians looking to undertake this standalone module should be working in the automotive industry and must have relevant diagnostic experience to ensure that they are familiar with the skills, knowledge and techniques required to calibrate ADAS systems.
