EVENT OVERVIEWThe auspicious Eighth Year of the Australia-China BusinessWeek (ACBW) marks the first year the premium Sino-Australian business event has been presented in every eastern Australian capital city. This landmark year also brought the cream of Australian industry to the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) to hold the Australian Pavilion, which became the undisputed Fair favourite. ACBW 2015 reached drew 5000 delegates to hear directly from over 100 academics and industry experts, and network directly with the strongest contingent of proactive organisations in the Australia China space.

Reflecting the importance of the Chinese relationship, the ACBW events in Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart invited the Premiers the Hon. Daniel Andrews, The Hon. Jay Weatherill and The Hon. Will Hodgman respectively to present a Keynote Address. In his second ACBW appearance, the Prime Minister the Hon. Malcolm Turnbull, commanded the attention of assembled delegates at the flagship Australia-China BusinessWeek 2015 Sydney event.

Chinese delegates attended dedicated Mandarin forums inviting Huang Rengang, Minister Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of China and Song Yumin, Consul-General of the PRC in Melbourne. Such support from Chinese institutions is direct evidence of the mutual recognition of the vitality of the Sino-Australian relationship.

Speakers ranged across key Chinese and Australian industries. The diversity of economic interactions between our two countries was on display with Ahmed Fahour, CEO of Australia Post | StarTrack, Mark Green, Partner and Global Markets Leader of law firm Minter Ellison. Other speakers include experts from AusTrade, Luisa Rust and Michelle Wade to bring delegates the latest on bilateral trade relations, and returning experts Benjamin Sun, from digital marketing agency, Think China and David Thomas, ACBW Forum Chair, to ensure delegates receive the most comprehensive Australia-China BusinessWeek possible.
