It takes God a long time to get us to stop thinking that unless everyone sees things exactly as we do; they must be wrong. That is never God’s view. There is only one true liberty - the liberty of Jesus at work in our conscience enabling us to do what is right. Don’t get impatient with others. Remember how God dealt with you- with patience and with gentleness. But never water down the truth of God. Let it have its way and never apologize for it. LIVING FREE IN CHRIST

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free…” (Galatians 5:1)

“Sometimes someone captures something in words with such precision and elegance that cannot be improved upon. This is the case with Oswald Chambers when he reflects upon liberty and the standards in Jesus in the following excerpt from My Utmost for His Highest:

A spiritually-minded person will never come to you with the demand- ‘Believe this and that’: a spiritually-minded person will demand that you align your life with the standards of Jesus. We are not asked to believe the Bible, but to believe the one whom the Bible reveals (see John 5:39-40). We are called to present liberty for the conscience of others, not to bring them liberty for their thoughts and opinions. And if we ourselves are free with the liberty of Christ, others will be brought into that same liberty - the liberty that comes from realizing the absolute control and authority of Jesus Christ.

Always measure your life solely by the standards of Jesus. Submit yourself to His yoke, and His alone; and always be careful never to place a yoke on others that is not of Jesus Christ. It takes God a long time to get us to stop thinking that unless everyone sees things exactly as we do; they must be wrong. That is never God’s view. There is only one true liberty - the liberty of Jesus at work in our conscience enabling us to do what is right.

New Calvary Mailbox

A big thank you to David Glenn for installing an outside mailbox for receiving Calvary mail and small packages. Dave installed this on Saturday, the 20th in the terrible heat!

This mailbox is only for Calvary mail. ACTC has been requested to obtain their own mailing address and no longer use the 120 W. Penn. Ave. address for receiving its or the mail of its clients.

The mailbox is to the right of the glass door in the little fenced in area where the shed and A/C unit are located.

Chaplain Tanya Bindernagel Update

I figured it would be appropriate to share with you and the congregation a little of what your/their prayers support, and some of the great ministry happening at Fort Sill. God is doing some incredible things in my battalion and in the worship services. In May, I was appointed as the senior pastor for the contemporary Protestant service for trainees. Since then, we have launched a Bible study that has grown from about 10 to almost 50. We have also had 8 baptisms over the last three weeks, and anticipate many more over the next few weeks as the summer surge comes to a close and many trainees prepare to graduate and move on to their next assignment.

As always, I appreciate your support and thank you very much for your prayers!

Blessings, Tanya

To our wonderful Calvary Family--

Truly from the bottom of hearts, we thank you all so much for throwing a "sprinkle" for our newest addition. The luncheon alone would have been more than enough; but the beautiful cards and gift money and handmade gifts and words of love have left us speechless and full of gratitude. I sent Heather a message later that day as I was just so overwhelmed. Thank you for welcoming our growing family into your hearts and into this church community. We are blessed and know that we are so thankful for all of you.

With love, gratitude and many many thanks, The Barbers, Julia, Alex, Ruby and Claire Lee

Dear Calvary Friends, Thank you so much for the baby shower and very generous gift. We are looking forward to Audrey’s car seat and oodles of diapers. We had a wonderful time at the shower. We are so blessed to have such a caring and loving church family. Sincerely, Emily Armstrong

THE MOON'S SONG OF PRAISE

From all my rolling valleys to all my cratered plains To all my stunning highlands--I'm here to praise God's name.

Midst all my lunar landscapes, surreal 'gainst inky sky, He spoke me into being to sing His praise on high!

And though in space's vacuum 'tis silence that you hear, I'm bathed in holy overtones, the music of the spheres!

And while from Earth you see me sometimes wax and sometimes wane, I simply point you to your God, the One who doesn't change.

He spoke me into being to rule the darker night, A sweet subdued reflection of His great dazzled light!

And when upon my surface twelve Americans have trod, They've simply seen the handiwork of our creative God. Not given greater brighter glow He gave the blazing sun,

My praise of Him is awed and hushed to praise the Holy One. So when you see me in the sky amidst the star-swept heavens, Give glory to all glorious God, and praise His name forever!

From CELEBRATE HIS PRAISE, © 2016 by Joyce Keedy

“This summer we are celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon launch, the first manned mission to the moon, so I wanted to feature one of my moon poems here. I love to look at the beautiful moon--sometimes I take my telescope or my binoculars outside to marvel at its cratered beauty, its soft white glow against the inky darkness of the night sky. Naturally, I was fascinated with the American manned space program, especially the Apollo moon landings. God spoke the whole universe into being, and the moon, too, joins this magnificent symphony as the whole created order sings for joy to praise its great Creator. Our songs of praise have gone into a different, higher dimension, though, for not only is He our Creator, He is our matchless Lord and Savior Jesus! And we worship Him.”

Calvary Christmas Shoebox Ministry

Given last year’s successful Christmas Shoe box Ministry – we’ve decided to do it again this year and start early so we have enough time to assemble these gift boxes. These precious boxes will be delivered to children all around the world spreading the love and the gospel of Jesus Christ our LORD. The boxes are shipped through Samaritan’s Purse and it’s a good assumption that most of us will never get to meet or know these kids on this side of heaven, but they may get a chance to meet Jesus because of YOU. We will set up donation bins in the church to collect items – feel free to hand-make something (scarf, hat etc.) Age group 2-14 years (girl and/or boy) There is an option to donate towards the Christmas shoe box ($20 per box) Below are some suggestions – feel free to go outside this list (as long as it can fit within a shoe box)

• Wow Item: Doll/stuffed animal/small musical instrument/ inflatable ball with manual pump • Personal care item: Soap, brush/comb, toothbrush, fancy band-aids, wash cloths, hair

accessories, blanket • Clothing: socks, flip-flops, underwear, loose fitting dress, hat, scarf, stockings • Crafts: Pencils, erasers, coloring books, notebooks, crayons, pens, stickers • Toys: finger puppets, slinky (no toy guns etc.) • Note: you can add a personal note

https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/what-goes-in-my-shoebox-suggestions/ No liquids, gels, eatables, aerosols, perishable items The church will order 100 pre-printed Christmas shoe boxes for $50 paid by the Missions fund and the $9 shipping per box will also be paid by the Missions fund. Below is the direct link if anyone needs more information on this mission:
