Mission Statement
Under the protection of the Mother of God, we are a faith community called by the Father,
energized by the Son, and moved by the Spirit to unite in witnessing and proclaiming
the Good News. We share in friendship, gather in worship, and do proclaim our desire to minister, welcome,
celebrate and extend His Kingdom.

Dear Parishioners: It is with great joy that I begin my ministry at Our Lady of the Woods Parish as your new Director of Music Ministries! As Fr. Mike mentioned in the bulletin last weekend, I come to you with many years of experience, including the position I’ve held for the past seven years at St. Petronille Church in Glen Ellyn, IL, located in the Diocese of Joliet. It is my hope and prayer that all gathered for weekend liturgies are fully drawn into the prayer of the Mass as a community of faith. To me, music isn’t simply something that the musicians do as we celebrate together, but it is a prayer for all of us as we fully participate with our hearts, minds, and voices.
In the coming weeks as I settle in, I welcome you to consider the various opportunities for involvement in the music ministry. I will be highlighting each group individually in future editions of the bulletin. Feel free to approach me if you are interested in one of the choirs, have any questions, or if there is anything you’d like to discuss. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the very warm welcome I have already received from the clergy, staff, musicians, parishioners, and your wonderful former Music Director, Nancy Schoenberg. I’m inspired by how many of you describe our parish as a special place and the positive impact our parish has on your lives. I am humbled to become a part of it. God bless you all, Eric Rasmussen Director of Music Ministries
