Produce contract awarded to Coast Produce in Oct. 2006 to supply produce to all five stores in Hawaii.

Coast’s teaming partner in Hawaii is Honolulu-based Armstrong Produce.

Armstrong Produce uses five major wholesalers/distributors in Hawaii to supply produce grown locally and from the mainland.

Armstrong supplied $22.4 million in fresh fruits and vegetables to the five commissaries in Hawaii during calendar year 2008. Of this, $5 million was procured locally.
