“Jesus called them over and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions act as tyrants over them. It must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’” -Matthew 20:25-28 When we look at the life of Jesus, we see many things, miraculous healings, profound teaching, and glorious revelations of God. If anyone deserved praise, honor, and the service of others, it was Jesus. However, from His own mouth, Jesus taught us that He did not come to be served, but to serve. In fact, He taught us that we ought to model this same mentality as well. We do not exist as believers to be served, but to serve. Right now, our church’s service to our members looks different. We have been unable to meet as usual and even as we move to our next step of gathering together it will be unusual and unprecedented. I just want to remind each of us, that the purpose of our gathering is to serve one another. We can serve each other by being willing to try different things, different times and places for our gatherings. You have an opportunity before you to model the love of Christ to one another. Are you ready to serve or are you waiting to be served? Let us follow Jesus’ example and serve one another, even during this strange time in the life of our church. A Note From Our Music & Children’s Minister I am working on a plan for the music ministry as we are reengaging in person gatherings. Everything is going to be new so please be patient and flexible as we move forward. This plan is fluid because we are trying to keep up with the ever-changing safety recommendations.

Our reopening plan will hopefully follow this outline.

• Vocal teams made up of worship leader and 1 to 2 other vocalists for both services Sunday morning (9:30am) and evening (6:00pm). These vocal teams will be new and shared through Google docs. If you have any questions on how to use Google docs, I will be more than glad to help you.

• We will rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 6:30PM in the sanctuary starting July 29, observing all safety precautions.

• Each week teams will rehearse in the sanctuary to learn new music.

• Welcome any and all instrumentalists who are ready to come back.

• Ensembles of 10 or less will hopefully start in the fall.
