Ironworks Motorcycles524 Prescott StGreensboro NC(336) 542-7868www.facebook.com/ironworksmc

When Ironworks Motorcycles first started we were a small shop focusing only on the restoration and servicing of vintage and antique bikes - particularly British makes. The first few years we only serviced and repaired vehicles on a referral basis. As time

progressed, we found more and more local riders asking for our assistance with their bikes. We have now expanded to a 5,000 sq. ft. with full parts counter and retail show room and have become one of the Triads only independent dealers. We currently service all makes and models, while also offering service, repair and custom options for vintage and antique motorcycles.

The one driving factor that has kept us moving forward over the years is quality; we are not your average motorcycle dealer because we believe in keeping our products made in the US and locally when possible. That commitment to quality can be seen in our products, our service and how we support our local community.

Our retail showroom houses some of the finest clothes and goods from local artisans such as Centennial Trade Co. (clothing and apparel) in Winston Salem, Fourth Winter Manufacturing (leather goods), motorcycle parts and accessories from Twin City Cycle Parts (Winston Salem) and Citizen Manufacturing (Chapel Hill). We also carry famous brands such as Bell Helmets, Biltwell, Arai, Roland Sands Designs, Avon Tyres, Bridgestone and more.

Smuttynose Brewing Company was founded in 1994 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It’s named after one of the nine islands that form the Isle of Shoals, which is located about nine miles off the coast. The Smuttynose Brewery is registered for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified. Peter Egelston founded the

brewery as a joint partner with the Mercury Brewing Co. Smuttynose is sold in 24 states and abroad. The name Smuttynose appeared as far back as the 17th century on old nautical charts, but there were no accompanying records to trace its exact origin. The heritage is definitely of the sea, however, as the Isles of Shoals have been home to pirates, storytellers, and fishermen over the centuries. It’s a storied history, but what of the beer made by the modern day company?Spencer Davis of City Beverage says, “The Smuttynose Finest Kind IPA is their best selling beer, but I really enjoy the Old Brown Dog Brown Ale. This beer is rich in caramel with hints of chocolate, light

spicy earth notes from the addition of the Willamette hops and nice nutty finish. This is a classic example of an American Brown Ale!“Tim Beeman of The Less Desirables says: “We rated this beer, Smuttynose’s Old Brown Dog Ale just recently on The Less Desirables. It’s got a great deep reddish color that reminds me of copper, but not tinny; again, very deep. The body is light but the malty flavors are prominent. There is a hop front that gives way to the malt finish. Plenty of flavor, yet light enough to have as a good ‘everyday’ beer. Have it after mowing the lawn, grilling out, cooking, cleaning house, anytime; it’s certainly easy to drink. I’ll agree with Spencer that there are little whispers of chocolate and spices, but it’s distinctively beer. The ABV is 6.7% so it’s sitting above average on that, meaning you’re getting your money’s worth here. All in all, I’m rating this beer a good 4 out of 5 pints!”Thirsty? Smuttynose is going to be

Home Furnishing and DecorA Touch of Classic Beauty at Laster’s Fine Art & Antiques By Brian Watkins

As a home front for beautiful antiques and home decor for over 40 years, Laster’s Fine Art and Antiques carries merchandise priced to move. Their gallery includes antique furniture, paintings, sculptures, and other decorative pieces sure to add character to your home, and is the perfect local hub for art collectors and galleries.

Laster’s isn’t just a place to buy beautiful antiques, however. Folks from around the Triad can also bring their pieces in for consignment or auction, fetching up to a 60% commission on everything sold. These auctions have attracted antiques from all over the world. The diverse heritage of the inventory means truly unique art — each with a touch of the culture and time period it stemmed from.

FOR THE ART COLLECTORThis is noteworthy for local art dealers and collectors. Laster’s carries thousands of original prints from the 19th century and beyond for a classic touch in any gallery or room of a home. If you’re into old books and texts, Laster’s also stocks hundreds of leather-bound books from the 1800s from all genres. The allure of collecting pieces like these

goes beyond the eclectic look it can create in an otherwise modern space. When you acquire a 19th century book, for example, you own a snapshot of history. Everything from the print style to the binding materials speaks to that era, not to mention how many people have read and enjoyed the book over the centuries of its existence.ESTATE SALESOne important component of the auction and consignment services involves estate sales. When an estate has to be settled and a lifetime of belongings accounted for, it can seem overwhelming. Laster’s has a long history of successful estate tag sales that involves a true whole-house inventory. In two or three days everything from appliances to bed sheets can be priced and sold, leaving the house clean and broom swept. It’s the perfect solution: the items are cleared out quickly and efficiently, and you’ve

fetched a fair price for everything in the process. Settling an estate is challenging enough, so simplifying this part of it puts you a step ahead.Interested in learning more about the inventory or in the types of pieces Laster’s is currently looking to buy?
