Reflection of the Gospel:
Three question from the Jews, or more
accurately a few of their leaders, open the
Gospel. The first two questions are rhetorical
and question Jesus’ identity as the son of Joseph
and whether or not they know his father and
mother. Third question asks about his authority,
and how he can claim to have come down from
heaven. Jesus’ response develops his relation-
ship with the Father and the role of the Father in
drawing believers to Jesus. Jesus then solemnly
teaches those gathered that eternal life comes to
those who believe. Again, he self-identifies as
the Bread of Life and the
“living bread” in “I Am” statements.
Do you hunger for the "bread of life"?
Jesus offers us the abundant supernatural life of heaven
itself - but we can miss it or even refuse it. To refuse Jesus is to
refuse eternal life, unending life with the Heavenly Father. To
accept Jesus as the bread of heaven is not only life and spiritual
nourishment for this world but glory in the world to come.
Rechazar a Jesús

Thank you!
Again, we continue to listen to the Bread
of Life discourse from the Gospel of John.
It started with the multiplication of the
loaves and fish. The people came back, or
kept on looking for Jesus, with the hope
that they will have their fill again. Jesus
makes an attempt to guide them so that they will look for
the bread that can give them life. He presents himself as
the Bread that came down from heaven. He is the bread
that can give eternal life. Whoever eats of his flesh will
live forever. We need Jesus to attain life eternal. We may
be looking for him for varied reasons, as we present our
prayers and our longings. We long for love and happiness.
We desire peace and justice. And we have yet the deepest
longings that we can have in our hearts. It is the Lord who
can satisfy our hunger and thirst. As we receive him, he
will give us life. He will raise us up. If we receive him,
Christ will live in us, as we also try to live in Him. St.
Paul says that “the life I now live in the flesh I live by
faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself
for me (Gal.2:20). Pope Francis, quoting these words,
would asked: What is this life? It is God’s own life. And
who brings us this life? It is the Holy Spirit, the gift of the
Risen Christ, the Bread of life.

DID YOU KNOW? Watch for signs of anxiety in your child Everyone has had an anxious moment or two in their lives, but
many people — even kids — struggle with daily anxiety. Anxiety
can be a contributing factor in depression, and even if it’s not that
severe, it can make day-to-day activities tough. Kids who suffer
from anxiety may exhibit physical symptoms like asthma and
stomach aches, or could have trouble eating, sleeping, or going to
the bathroom. If your child is showing signs of anxiety, it’s im-
portant to ask why, and then to help your child address the cause
and manage the associated feelings. For a copy of the complete VIR-
TUS© article, “The Age of Anxiety in Children: Implications for Provid-
ing Safe Catholic Schools, Part II,” visit http://www.la-archdiocese.org/

presentamos nuestras oraciones y nuestros anhelos. Anhelamos
