Professional Experience RC9 Group Pte Ltd Nov 2013 – Current Co-Founder & CTO
I founded RentCars Group Pte Ltd in 2013. The company is headquartered in Singapore. It underwent a rebrand to RC9 in August 2015 in its quest to expand. RC9 focuses on being the leading personal transportation for everyone in the Asia. RC9 connects people through great vehicle sharing and rental experiences. RC9 strongly believes in a successful vehicle sharing economy where transportation is made transparent. I took care of the whole technology aspect in the company. I grew the technology team from 1 to 8 regionally and have identified key issues that car rental companies are facing in the industry and created a car rental management SaaS for car rental companies.
MICROSOFT OPERATIONS Oct 2010 – Aug 2011 Developer
I worked as a developer in Microsoft Regional School Technology Innovation Centre (STIC), Public Sector Group, Microsoft. This work involves developing new tools to aid teaching in a classroom environment. Working with partners from Microsoft, National Institute of Education, Singapore and Media Development Authority, Singapore to develop software for teachers in Asia Pacific region, I am responsible for creating prototypes and handover the projects to ISV once an agreement has been reached. I also see projects from gathering user requirements to deployment. I also worked hand in hand with the colleagues at regional office to create a partnership training package and a marketing campaign called “Back to School” which I am responsible for the demonstration component of the kit. This was distributed across APAC Microsoft Subsidiaries.
WUFANG PTE LTD Dec 2008 – Aug 2012 Webmaster & Application Developer
This role involves maintaining corporate ICT assets of the company which include the corporate website and the social networking profile like the Facebook group, Twitter and Youtube profile. I am also involved in the social media marketing effort which makes use of Web 2.0 to come up with a 3 months marketing campaign on a new sport which we are launching in Singapore. I developed Student Management System, Competition System and Certification Printing System which aid the administrators in their daily tasks.
INIVISIONFREE SKIN ZONE Dec 2005 – Jun 2007 Support Staff (Virtual-Space)
The role as a Support Staff on Invisionfree Skin Zone is to provide HTML, CSS, Javascript solutions to Invisionfree board’s user. Invisionfree Skin Zone had 240,000 registered members and generated a total of 3,300,000 posts at that point of time. I was also maintaining a database of documentations, tutorials and codes. There was only 14 staff at any point of time to support the whole operation.
