E stablished in 1988, Hansen & Young, Inc. has maintained the pioneering spirit in progressively

pursuing the latest trends in the auction method of marketing. The company started with brother-in-laws Roger Han-sen & Erlyn Young teaming up to create the business and they got their start in conducting live farm auctions and the business progressively grew from there.

As the business grew, Roger’s sons Bryce & Barry were able to join the fam-ily business as well. Building upon their progressive nature Hansen & Young expanded their services into marketing and conducting all types of auctions. Bryce Hansen sums it up as, “We are a

marketing company utilizing online and live auctions to sell assets from all types of real estate to farm and construction, industrial and specialty items for sellers who are private individuals, corporate and bankruptcy trustees.”

After 20 years to the month in business, the Hansen team took the opportunity to conduct their first online only auction. The auction consisted of all the equip-ment from a yogurt making facility and the auction proved to be a huge suc-cess attracting nationwide bidders and selling a majority of the items from a small town in Wisconsin to a bidder from Georgia. Since then Hansen & Young has shifted the majority of their auctions


to be online only as they have found that it truly increased the seller’s bottom line and allows more opportunity for increased bidder participation worldwide, therefore expanding upon the local market.

With this shift into online auctions through the affiliation with MarkNet Alliance, Han-sen & Young has maintained their award winning marketing strategy in offering maximum advertising exposure for the best value / timeframe allowed on a per auction basis. Increasing online and so-cial media marketing packages to add to the established print and direct mail mar-keting, the Hansen team has developed a solid marketing strategy that remains fluid with rapidly changing media methods. Taking the reins with online marketing, Hansen & Young has built an unrivaled email database exposing your auction to over 50,000 interested buyers as well as offering networked exposure to over 200,000 registered bidders. Being one of the first charter members of MarkNet Al-

Hansen & Young conducts all types of auc-tions from business liquidations, machin-ery sales, all types of real estate, estate and divorce planning, specialty type sales, consignments and more. The Hansen team has found a certain niche in business liqui-dations, offering full liquidation services to various business types including massive paper mills, trucking companies, construc-tion firms and more. Also this auction team has helped orchestrate numerous farm liq-uidations selling full lines of machinery and farms and farm land. Beyond farm land, Hansen’s also have sold residential, water-front, recreational and commercial types of properties. Along with the liquidations of various types of assets, they have also successfully taken on the challenge of sell-ing specialty item types starting with their first online only auction of yogurt making


equipment and selling out asset types from Lely robotic milking systems to woodwork-ing shops and much more.

Outside of the day to day auction routine, Hansen & Young strives to maintain the highest standard of education within the in-dustry staying actively involved in state and national auctioneering associations. Team members have served and are serving in leadership positions within the National Auctioneers Association, Wisconsin & Min-nesota State Auctioneers Associations and have instructed various educational cours-es about auction industry practices. Along with this, several team members have com-pleted or are pursuing their AARE & CAI designations, one of the highest education-al accreditation designations offered by the National Auctioneers Association.
